"I hope you rot in jail," Doc said as he pushed Xisuma further into the ground. He had the audacity to go around and commit crimes, even to go as far as bribing HIM during a trial, and then try to turn the blame on a stupid rabbit. How dumb did X think they were?
He glared angerly at the figure beneath him, but then he felt Xisuma go limp under him. Doc let go of one of his arms, but the arm just fell to the ground. Fear shot through him as he realized Xisuma wasn't breathing.
"What?" Doc said uncertainly.
He flipped X over and spotted the problem. He had pushed Xisuma's neck right into a root, which had probably started to strangle him. He breathed a breath of relief when he realized that X had resumed breathing, but that didn't ebb away any of the guilt that Doc was feeling.
Despite what had happened, he still cared about his friend. He definitely didn't want him to die. He didn't mean for this to happen.
Joe knelt down by Xisuma and slipped his finger under X's glove. "I don't like the feeling of that pulse." He looked up at Doc. "Pick him up. We need to fly him somewhere with better medical capabilities."
"The prison has an infirmary and it is the closest," False said as Doc picked Xisuma up bridal style. "We can set him up there."
"You just want to put him there to keep an eye on him," Ren growled, trying to break out of Wels' grip.
"Ren, we just want what's good for him," Python said in an attempt to calm Ren down.
"You are the ones who did this to him," Ren shouted, giving Doc an accusing glare.
Doc opened his mouth to defend himself, but Joe started dragging him away. "Hurry, X needs our help."
Doc turned and ignored Ren's shouts as he ran to the Nether portal. He stepped in without a second thought. The transition from the Overworld to the Nether was nauseating, but he ran down the netherrack tunnel. He ignored the blazing heat as he looked down at Xisuma, still unconscious in his arms.
"Hang in there X," Doc whispered under his breath.
He heard Cub's voice trailing behind him. "We'll take care of him Doc."
He finally spotted the portal and quickened his pace, ignoring his protesting legs. Practically jumping through the portal, he appeared on the other side. Moments later a breathless Joe and Cub appeared.
"This way," Joe called as he ran into the prison.
Doc followed and lay Xisuma on the cold, hard bed. Cub came in after them with a bunch of machinery.
"Doc, you'll need to step out for this," Joe said. Doc cast a hesitant glance at Xisuma and obeyed with a nod.
He pulled up a chair right next to the door and felt tears roll down his face.

Thank you guys so much for reading. I didn't originally plan to write this chapter, but I felt like Doc's view was needed. I really appreciate all of you reading this, and I plan to have the next chapter up later today.
Make sure you drink plenty of water today!
