Chapter 29

So I might be a little late with this, BUT HAPPY NEW YEAR!

My year has been crap so far, how bout yours? 

Either way, here is a New Years special for you. It's a little late, but I hope you don't mind. Happy 2020! 🎉🎉🎉🎉❤️❤️❤️❤️

I was walking home after a lunch at a cafe. My dad had to leave later today, but today was New Years! I wanted to spend time with him! Didn't he understand that?

I frowned and my once happy walk, had turned into a miserable one. I dragged my feet home and opened my front door. "I'm home..." I mumbled out. "Hey kiddo..." dad said as he popped his head out from the living room. 

"What's wit the long face?" He asked. "Dad! You know why! I wanted to begin my new year with you! But now you have to leave and..." I sighed and ran my finger through my hair in frustration. Dad sighed. "I- I know. I want to spend time with you too! I really do! But it's my job and they said it was-" he started, then I cut him off. "Yeah, yeah, it was really important... I get it..." I mumbled.

Dad sighed. "I just- I just wanted this to be OUR year you know? And we can't even be together for the start of it..." I sighed. My dad nodded understandingly. "I get it. I want to spend time with you too. You have no idea how much i want to say I can't come... But I can't." He said. I sighed.

"Yeah, I know... I'll see you in a week though..." I said and smiled sadly at him. He nodded. "Yeah, in a week." He smiled sadly back. Then he looked down at his watch. "Oh no! I'm gonna be late!" He yelled.

He quickly zipped up his suitcase, got dressed and grabbed his phone and wallet and keys. "See ya y/n!" He yelled and kissed my head. Then he ran out...

I sighed and sat down onhe couch. Tikki flew outta of my pocket. "I heard it all y/n... Are you okay?" She asked. "I-I'm fine." I said as my voice cracked. Tears were merging from my eyes and rolled down my cheeks. I let out a sob.

"Oh, y/n..." Tikki said and flew up to me and hugged me. I held around her tiny body and cried...

I was done now... I don't think I had any tears left to be honest. To think I'm gonna be alone on New-years Eve? My just left on a business trip? What am I supposed to do here? I don't have any fireworks. I honestly don't feel like going in to the city to watc it there either... Maybe I can watch them from my balcony or something...

It was getting late... It was already ten now. Wow, time flies when you're having fun... (note the sarcasm)

It was dark out already. And I was tired of sitting here. "Tikki, do you think I could go out for a bit? As ladybug I mean..." I said. Tikki looked concerned, but she understood. She nodded. "Thanks..." I said

"Tikki, spots on..." I said.

Adrien's pov

I wasn't that excited for New Years. Father was gonna be home though, so hopefully he'll have time to spend it with me. I decided to ask him!

I went downstairs and knocked on my fathers door. "Come in." He said. I opened the door. "Adrien, make it quick. I have a lot to do right now." He said. I nodded. "Well, I was hoping that we could spend New Years together this year. Maybe go into the city and watch some fireworks or something..." I said. My father looked at me.

"You know I have no time to do stuff like that. Now, out of my office... I don't have time for this..." he said and went back to work. I sighed and went out and back up to my room. I was met with Plagg eating his stinky, old cheese.

"How'd it go?" He asked. I frowned. "I guess I'll have to spend New Years alone this year..." I said. Plagg looked sympathetic. "Want some cheese?" He asked. I knew he was being serious. He actually offered me his cheese. He NEVER does that. 

"No thanks" I said. I checked the time on my phone. Ten o'clock. "Hey Plagg, mind if we go out a bit?" I asked. "... Ugh! Fiiiiineeee..." he grumbled.

"Plagg claws out!"

Your pov

I soared through the air, jumping from building to building. Swinging around the city. I landed on a building and breathed in the cool air. "My lady?" I suddenly heard. "Aaah!" I screamed. I looked around and saw Chat behind me. 

"Chat Noir? What are you doing here?" I asked. "I could ask you the same thing." He said. I chuckled. "I had nothing better to do..." I said. Chat nodded. I sat down on the edge of the building. "What about you?" I asked and looked up at him.

"I guess I had nothing better to do either..." he said and sat down next to me. I smiled a bit.

Fireworks were seen in the distance. "Already? It only a bit over ten." Chat said. I chuckled. "Just enjoy it." I said. Chat chuckled back. He took his arm and put it around me. I blushed. I leaned my head on his shoulder. And there we sat. Watching the fireworks...

We talked, we laughed. We looked at the fireworks. It was now half an hour till midnight. "I guess I should get going. I have somewhere I want to be." He said. I nodded. We both stood up. 

"Happy new year Chat..." I said and smiled. "Happy new year Ladybug..." he said. I smiled. I wanted to kiss him, but I was scared. He then ran off and saluted me. I chuckled, the. I went home. I landed on my balcony and detransformed.

"That was nice. Chat Noir can be a really sweet person." Tikki said. I nodded. "He really is..." I said. I gave Tikki a cookie and decided to stand on my balcony for the rest of the year.

I opened the door and stepped out. "Hey purrincess..." I heard. "Ah!" I turned around and saw chat... again... Not that I mind though. "Man! That's the second time today!" I said. "What?" Chat asked. "Oh! Nothing..." I said and rubbed my neck awkwardly.

"What are you dong out here alone?" Chat asked. "Well, my dad is on a business trip. I have to celebrate this New Years alone I guess..." I said. Chat smiled. "Not anymore!" He said. "Hm?" I asked. "We can celebrate together!" He said and grinned.

"Really?! What about you family or friends? Don't you wanna celebrate with them?" I asked. Chat looked sad for a second. "Well uh- none of them had the time really... So I'm free for the day..." he said and gave a sad, nervous laugh. I smiled sadly at him. 

"Let's celebrate together then..." I said and smiled at him, he smiled back. We both sat down is some chairs I had and looked at the fireworks. He put his arm around me... Again... Nad I leaned onto his shoulder... again...

It was nice though. I looked at the time on my phone. "1 minute till midnight..." I said. "Wow... 2020... it's a big number..." Chat said. I chuckled. "Yeah, I guess it is." 

I checked the time. "30 seconds." I said and looked at my New Years countdown on my phone.

"20 seconds..." I said. "Almost there..." Chat said.

"10" I said.

"9" we counted together.

"8" I looked at him.

"7" he looked at me.

"6" I looked at his lips

"5" he moved closer.

"4" I moved closer.

"3" I closed my eyes

"2" even closer...

"1" ...

A kiss. His lips touched mine at exactly the number one. I kissed back. It was my first kiss. His hands went to my waist and I wrapped mine around his neck.

I enjoyed the moment. His lips were soft and tasted sweet. Our lips moved perfectly together. Like they were made for each other. The sounds really cheesy though.

We finally parted. I looked into his eyes. He looked into mine.

"Happy New Year y/n..." 

"Happy New Year Chat noir..." I said.

We then turned to look at the fireworks. I was still in his arms.

And it's safe to say, that this was one of the best New Years so far...
