The next day Ethan, Sara, Benny, and I were walking to school together. Outside the building we saw Principal Hicks talking to some reporters.
"I'd like to ask you not to repeat these silly rumors of alleged 'attacks'," He put air quotes around the word, "In the first place, the fans of the vampire genre have wild imaginations. And secondly, I am told that defective 3D glasses may have caused advanced neurological side effects. In any case there won't be any more wild Dusk activity on my watch; believe it," He assured.
Sarah and I chuckled, "Faulty 3D glasses? Who's gonna buy that bullshit?" I questioned.
"These are Dusk fans we're talking about remember." Ethan pointed out.
"Besides. The town is safe; Jesse's rejoined his flock. It's all good right?" Benny asked with his hands outstretched. I nodded half smiling, I was still mad at him for kissing that girl but I was happy all was well for now.
Ethan paused, "Wait; you're not still dying are you? I mean your mortal body looks fine to me." Ethan said to Sara and I chuckled.
"Thanks; well Benny's grandma makes a mean human blood substitute," Sarah complimented.
"That and she found my spell book," Benny added.
I laughed, "Yeah, it appeared on your bed, dork!"
Then someone called out to us, "Hey guys!" turning around we saw Rory and Erica.
Erica had apologized to us late last night and we couldn't not forgive her. We returned the smiles they were giving us.
"It's pretty much all over," Ethan smiled.
The bell ran, "Immortal beings going to class with humans. Ugh," I groaned as we walked inside. Sarah laughed and we locked arms.
Everything was going to be fine. For now.
