The halls were quiet. Too quiet. I knew it was coming for me, I could feel it. Passing the empty hallway into the lounge I didn't even notice the creature following me. Where are my friends when I need them?

~The Night Before ~

I sat excitedly with my friends at Ethan's dining room table, his mom was feeding us cookies and milk!

"Okay, here we go!" Mrs. Morgan proclaimed plopping another plate of cookies in front of us, "Don't you think you guys are getting a little bit old for milk and cookies?" She put her hand on her hip questioningly.

Benny smiled picking up three cookies, "Maybe. But you're never too old for a cookie sandwich!" He took a bit into the three of them at the same time.

I chuckled, "And to think. I thought you couldn't get any weirder."

Sarah nodded, "Just when I think you've found every way there is to be disgusting, you find another one."

I snorted sneaking a peek at Ethan who bashfully put down his cookie sandwich and only ate one, "Yeah, grow up Benny."

I took a sip of my milk when there was a knock at the door and Benny's grandma walked in, "Hello!" She greeted.

"Oh hi, Evelin. Come on in!" Mrs. Morgan welcomed, "What brings you here?"

Benny looked down, knowing what she was here for, Mrs. Weir walked over between me and Benny, "Well, I just wanted to make sure that Benny isn't making a mess-" She gasped as she discreetly used her magic to knock his cup of milk over. "Oh! Do you have any napkins?" She asked Mrs. Morgan.

Benny gave her a look full of hatred as Mrs. Morgan sped off to find some napkins, "Grandma!?!" Benny whined.

Mrs. Weir leaned in to all of us, "Well? What do you have to say for yourselves?"

Benny went right to defense, "It's an easy explanation," He pointed to me and Sarah, "They didn't believe in trolls. And Ethan bet me I couldn't conjure one. What was I supposed to do?"

"You didn't conjure a troll, you conjured a toll! I had to pay five bucks just to leave my living room!"

Sarah and I laughed while Ethan pointed, "I knew you couldn't do it!"

Mrs. Morgan sighed as she approached us with napkins, "Here we go!" She smiled just as Mrs. Weir spelled benny's plate of cookies to scatter on the floor as if he'd toppled his plate over.

"Oh Benny!" She scolded. Mrs. Morgan seemed only slightly agitated as she handed him the napkins and went off to find something to clean up the mess.

Benny looked at all of us, "At least I conjured a toll booth. Can one of you three do that? Hmm?" He challenged.

I pipped up, "No all we-" I waved my finger between me and Sarah, "do is fight all the battles while you hide in a corner because you cast another dud spell!"

"Like you hide every time that stupid robot dentist movie is on!" Sarah corroborated.

"Hey!" Benny snapped, "Cyberdontist came to this planet to fill our cavities with pain!"

"And at least I'm not hiding from myself," He side-eyed the both of us.

"And what's that supposed to mean?" We asked in unison.

Ethan answered for him, "You're a vampire who's afraid to bite people and you're a werewolf who hasn't turned into a wolf in weeks," We both glared at him, "What? He said it, I didn't."

"Well excuse me if I can't always control myself. I don't exactly want to kill anyone!" I snapped suddenly loosing my urge to eat anymore cookies.
