Part 3 Chapter 2: Say You'll be Maztak

It was feeling oddly hot, so I decided to wear a black tank top with ripped jeans and my combat boots, I had a leather jacket in my locker incase I got cold but it didn't seem like it would get to that point. When Sarah and I got to school we met up with Erica.

"Hey, there are the guys?" I asked confused as I looked around.

"I don't know? Ethan hasn't texted me yet this morning," Sarah responded.

Confused we looked for them, normally we meet every morning before class starts, they wouldn't not show up without saying anything Knowing they have Mr. G's class first we go to his door to check there. Low 'n behold there they are, staring forward at a woman in the front of the room. Sarah knocked on the door lightly, getting Ethan's attention. He tip-toed over and cracked the door open to talk to us.

"Hey!" he greeted.

"What's going on in there?" Sarah asked.

"Who's the fashion fail in the muumuu?" Erica questioned, while I looked over and saw Benny goo-goo eyeing the lady, not even glancing over in my direction.

"I know right?" Ethan responded and I looked at him confused, "Ms. Lucia is subbing for Mr. G, she's so nice!" He gushed.

I looked in and saw her writing what looked like ancient symbols on the board and chanting, "Yeah she looks like a ray of sunshine."

Erica squints her eyes at Ethan, "Anyway, do you still have any of those little wooden-stake darts?"

I gave her a side eye, "Pencils?"

He gave a slow nod, "Yeah, why?"

"Some vampire jerk stood her up," Sarah explained, "She wants to make a point but I-" She got interrupted when the door opened more and the woman turned to Ethan.

"All warriors must get to work," her accent was thick and I couldn't identify it, "The hour of judgement approaches."

Ethan looked at her dreamily, nodding before going back into the classroom without saying bye. The three of us exchanged looks.

"Uh.." Erica looked at Lucia awkwardly, "So where are the girl warriors?"

Lucia looked like she couldn't be bothered by us, "Banished," She snapped, "Maidens have no use but to serve their queen when the hour is at hand," Without another word she slammed the door in our faces.

The three of us exchanged looks of confusion with slight offense taken, "Well, that was weird," Sarah stated.

Erica looked pissed off, "Makes me wanna turn that sub. Into a sandwich," She sneered strutting away annoyed.

I glanced back into the room, Benny hadn't even looked over....I gave Sarah a sad look.

She wrapped her arm around me comfortingly, "It's just a boy thing. After he has her he'll be back to his regular weird-self," She joked lightheartedly.

During my class I tried to text Benny, asking him to meet up after class, but I never got an answer. Afterwards, Erica saw my crestfallen face, "I'm gonna rip your boyfriend to shreds," She threatened.

I shook my head, "Erica no, it's fine."

"It's not! Look at you! You're smoking! He can't be ignoring you just cause of some bimbo sub!" I looked up and saw the guys walking down the stairs with papers in their hands. I nodded in their direction, "Here we go,"

Ethan tapped Benny's shoulder and pointed behind him where we were approaching, Benny turned around and smiled at us, he just smiled at me, "You girls got any bloodstone? Sounds like a supernatural thing."
