First indication that I wasn't dead was the fact that I felt...different. If I was dead I wouldn't have felt anything at all. At least that's what I think; given I never died before. I think I felt stronger, but disoriented. I checked my watch and saw only a few minutes had passed since the explosion. Oh shit, the explosion. I looked around urgently, my guard up. I tilted my head round the pedestal where Stern once stood. I wasn't expecting him to be alive but I wasn't expecting what I saw either. Instead of his lifeless corpse just laying there, in his place was a large pile of ash. I released a breath I didn't know I was holding in.
I looked on the pedestal where the Lucifractor was prior to the explosion. I was shocked when all I saw was a clear ball. It was as if the magic inside it was gone. I was confused, what happened to it? Suddenly I felt a surge flow through me. I looked down and saw my hands, glowing purple. It reminded me of Scarlet Witch from the Marvel Universe. I got a little worried and pulled out my phone, opening the camera. I felt relieved when my K9s showed up, I was still a werewolf. I noticed one more addition to my standard supernatural existence. My red eyes that signified I was the alpha were replaced with the mystical purple that was the Lucifractor. I felt so powerful, and I now knew why.
Stern and I were fighting for control of the Lucifractor, the power was too overwhelming for his dark soul. So it came to me. It was hard to wrap my head around but instead I had another thought. Benny. I struggled to shift into a wolf I'm gonna have to get used to this again, catching the scent of my family I followed it.
~3rd Person POV~
"We must leave now," Anastasia urged to the vampires with her.
all of them shook their heads, "We can't leave now." Benny hadn't moved, he stayed on the ground on the hill overlooking Whitechapel, grieving. Sarah looked at him, "We need to see if she's alive."
"The explosion proves the Lucifractor was destroyed, but we cannot risk the magic left behind, we wait a few hundred years then-" She stopped when they heard what they were waiting for.
A howl.
Rory looked excited, "She's alive!" Erica put her hand on his shoulder and shook her head.
"She couldn't have survived that."
Sarah looked behind them warily, "Something's coming," She warned. Ready to stand their ground, the vampires crouched, ready to attack whatever was approaching them. A white wolf trotted through the fog. Rory and Erica looked relieved but Sarah stopped them, "Be careful," She remained cautious.
Slowly the wolf walked up to the vampires who all hissed protectively, but the animal just looked at them, not retaliating or defending itself. Curious, they let the dog approach them. It looked up at them, it's purple eyes bright and mesmerizing. Seeing the animal wasn't going to hurt them, it walked past them. Right to the sad boy comforting his sad friend.
The dog sat next to Ethan who looked at it confused, "Uh..." He looked at it curious, unsure of what to do. The wolf lifted its paw up and put it on Ethan's shoulder, the boy gasped as he welcomed the vision. Much like when he was in Stern's head he looked around, in the distance he saw her back to him, "K-Kayla?" He gasped.
She turned around smiling, "Hey E! I'm kinda struggling here," She admitted.
"You're the wolf?" He confirmed, "But your eyes-"
"Yeah...The Lucifractor thought it would look cooler," He noticed that now even in her human form, her eyes were still purple, "I'm getting used to the addition of power...I haven't quite worked out how to shift back yet, I might need a few minutes. Shifting to a wolf hurt a little bit so I just need to heal some more."
