Theatre used to be my thing...before the whole lycanthrope thing. In my old school I used to do anything and everything when it came to theatre. Whether it was being in the cast, or building the set, or anything I could do. So when Ms. LOL (I'm not kidding that's what we all call her) told me that she was putting on The Rainbow Factory and needed a Stage Manager I couldn't turn her down. Given, I'd never heard of the show but still it was something I would be glad with helping her out with. I had just finished putting up the last of the information posters when Sarah and Erica caught up with me.

"The Rainbow Factory? Ugh. I hate that hippie junk," Erica groaned, "This is gonna be the worst school play ever."

"Why are you helping out?" Sarah asked me.

"I used to always help with school plays and musicals. Figured I could keep it up here. And they needed a stage manager with experience," I shrugged, I turned back to Erica, "If you don't like the show why do you want to be in it?" I asked skeptically.

"It's on my bucket list," She shrugged.

Sarah gave her a look, "Why do you even have a bucket list? You're never gonna kick the bucket," She reminded her.

"It's a long list. And one of the points is to star in the school play. So I can ram it in the face of that pint-sized drama queen Sunday Clovers," She mocked Sunday's Australian accent.

I smirked, "Well I get to influence who gets cast so you might wanna prepare for that audition like now. Cause I can't guarantee anything," I reminded her.

"And you act like she came all the way here from Australia on exchange just to annoy you," Sarah told her chuckling, "Why can't you just be nice?"

"Don't tell me how to live Sarah!" she snapped as we approached the sign in sheet for cast and crew. She seemed to reach for the pen at the exact same time as Benny.

They both exchanged looks before he let go, "Age before beauty," He joked as she signed her name under the auditions side.

"Oh, that's it-" Ms. LOL cheered when she saw the little group at the sheet, "Let the eagles of creativity soar! Kayla you did an amazing recruitment job, best stage manager I've ever had by far," She praised before turning back to the old book in her hand, "I'm off to make copies of this wonderful script!" She struggled opening it, as it seemed to be bound shut.

"Looks like it doesn't wanna open," Ethan commented.

Ms. LOL handed it to me when I outstretched my hand to her, "It didn't want to be found either," She smiled at me when I got it open, "Being hidden away inside that basement wall for 25 years. And I dug it out. Anyways it should be clear sailings from here," She smiled, "I'll see you at auditions, your binder will be ready by then darlin'," she kindly walked away.

Benny signed his name then looked at me, "Stage manager?"

I nodded, "I'm in charge of keeping notes and basically making sure the lighting and sound goes as it should be."

"So you're gonna be my boss?"

I laughed, "Benny, when am I ever not your boss?" I kissed his cheek and patted his back before walking away to get the audition room ready.

"I'm the understudy?" Erica looked between me and Ms. LOL shell shocked, "But I totally nailed that audition!"

I froze flashing that to that train wreck of an audition. But I would never say that to her face.

Ms. LOL looked at me for help before turning back to her, "You were very...present," she said giving a forced smile.
