Eden's POV

The sun was shining through the windows of the queen's chambers awaking me from my slumber. It did not take long for me to realize that the bed was empty and my body was uncovered and cold.

"Rhea?" I called out to her, it was then when I saw her get up from a chair in the room, quickly coming to my side. A smile crept on my face upon seeing her so flawless as she always is. She was already dressed for the day. She took my hand in hers and gently kissed it before sitting on the bed next to me.

"Good morning princess." Her hands caressing the wild strands of my hair. I've never felt more rejuvenated than I do in this moment.  "Have I overslept?"

"Not at all, it is fairly early. We must speak about matters that now concern you." I sat up straight covering my body with the bed sheets. "Is there something wrong?" I knew there was, her body was tense and her eyes searching with shoulders straight. "The rebels are nearing and it is time to take action, as queen I cannot let them march any further." "What does that mean, Rhea?" I asked with voice trembling. I saw the glint of that old hatred still in her aqua eyes. "It means battle, my armies will march against them and put an end to it."

"You can not simply kill hundreds as if it was nothing." I spoke in alarm, searching with my eyes the floors for my clothes. "It is nothing, I gave them a chance to disperse, to live as freely as they could manage, but they chose otherwise. If they keep on marching awful things will come to those who have not join their cause."

"Rhea what are you keeping from me?" My head is a whirlwind at the moment, her actions and her words go against all of my beliefs.

"My mother, Goddess Aria spoke to me, they are tired of the human race and she wants to annihilate the entire species. I am trying to prevent that." Her words made my stomach turn. It made my own words dissipate in the thick silence that has fallen upon us. "I will leave this afternoon." My eyes found hers, for once they were filled with a sadness that allowed my heart to sink down. "Why must you still take the Gods side if this is not what you desire?" My hand came to rest on her soft cold cheek.

"You have changed my world, Eden, but the actions of the humans are repugnant and I will always choose those who gave me life amongst the misery I once found myself in because of humans."

"You cannot hold us all accountable for the actions of a few."

"I am not, that is why the rebels must go and the innocent shall live."

"All they want is freedom." I spoke defeated there was no way of stopping this movement now and the humans do not know what awaits them even.

"Actions bring consequences, even for me if I do not follow what was instructed." I threw my arms around her and rested my face on her chest as she caressed my hair softly. "May I come with you then?"

"It's too dangerous."

"I do not care." I felt her lips on my temple, my eyes shifted looking for the answer on her face. "Get ready and prepare a bag of clothes to last you a couple of days. Keana and I will wait for you."

The first thought that came to mind when she left was Nadia, I had to find her somewhere in the palace she has a right to know what it's happening. Discreetly enough I searched for her in the castle, she was usually in the other wing working so I walked as fast as my human legs could take me there. Surely enough there she was with a cloth on her shoulder and a smile on her lips as she spoke to an elderly maid from the palace, upon seeing me I directed her somewhere else with my gaze.

Once in the empty chamber, I closed the doors behind me. "Eden, are you alright?" She was quick to speak. "There is no time Nadia, the human rebellion is marching from the North and Rhea is going there to stop it, she will make sure all of them are dead before the day ends." Her green eyes got clouded with anger for a second, she calmed her breathing and took a step closer to me. She did not look all that surprised and it made me worry.
