It had been two nerve wracking weeks since I left Tanner a message. Was he ignoring me? Did something happen to him?! Or did he simply forget about me?

It was a cooler florida morning and mom was yelling at me to hurry up. Finally it was Friday! I grabbed some shoes, rushed to pick up my backpack, and quickly put my sweater on.

When I got to school, everyone was whispering and giggling, pointing over to somewhere in the corner of the halls.

The bell rang, and everyone whipped passed me, and ran to class. My first hour class was the closest class room to my locker, thankfully.

I took a seat towards the back of the room, and opened my book. My teacher started with announcements that I hardly ever paid attention to. I was reading Julie Kagawa's Iron Fey series.

"As some of you know, we have a new student. Would you like to introduce yourself?"

"Ah sure?" Said a familiar voice.

Hanna, the girl who sat in front of me, turned around and whispered, "don't you think the new guy is cute?!" I rolled my eyes, not taking my eyes off my book. "No seriously, look!" I sighed, Hanna was the flirty type and thought every boy was cute.

I looked up because I knew she wouldn't stop bugging my if I didn't.

I looked up and a gasp escaped my mouth. My heart beated a million miles per hour, I couldn't believe my eyes!

"My name is Tanner Kingston. I moved here yesterday." He said, I caught him glancing at me. The teacher told him to sit next to me, the last empty seat in the class. The lesson started. Me and Tanner started passing notes:

Me: Okay, dont deny it, you knew!

Tanner: Knew what? That you go to this school? Of corse!

Me: You jerk! Why didn't you tell me?!

Tanner: Were would the fun be in that?

Me: ...

Tanner: Exactly! So... How have you been?

Me: uh fine.

Tanner: good!

Me: Tanner look, I'm sorry for leaving you alone on the last day at WDW. It doesn't mean I don't care for you!

Tanner: I know.

Me: You do?

Tanner: Your wearing the locket.

The belle rang and we went our separate ways to class.

Lunch finally came, I was famished! I brought my own lunch and so did Mina. Tanner however, had to wait in the school lunch line for his lunch.

"Okay Mina, I met Tanner at Disney world a few weeks ago. We are um..." I thought about it for a moment, we weren't 'together' anymore, so then what would I call him. "Good friends. Be nice?" I asked.

She rolled her eyes "when am I not nice?"

"Well just, talk to him?" I asked, Mina was one of the shyest people ever. I just wanted him to feel welcomed.

"I'll try." She responded. I smiled.

Tanner sat down next to me, a little to close so I moved just a little.

"Tanner Mina, Mina Tanner." I introduced. Tanner waved and Mina smiled a little.

Lunch was SUPER awkward. Mina and Tanner hardly talked directly to each other.

The day ended quickly, thank goodness, and Tanner offered to walk home with me.

"So how was the first day?" I asked.

He sighed. "okay!" I laughed.

"I still cant believe that you didn't tell me before!" I said, nudging him.

He stuck his tongue out at me, nudging me back.

"So what did you tell Mina?" He asked finally.

"That we were good friends."

"Thats it?"

"Thats all we are ... Right Tanner?" He never answered me and was quiet for a while.
