Draco Malfoy *3rd Year*

Chapter 20

After I had said goodnight to the others I made my way back to the common room to get some sleep, yet on the way there I was pulled into a dark corner and a hand was placed over my mouth

"Don't scream" I heard the voice of Draco hissed quietly. My eyes widened and I pulled his hand away

"What the hell are you doing?" I asked looking around to make sure no one was coming.

"I..wanted to apologise for earlier. I went to your common room but they said you weren't there" He answered softly. I looked at him in surprise

"You went to the Gryffindor common room to apologise?" I asked he nodded

"I must be going mad" I muttered to myself.

"So am I forgiven?" He asked looking hopeful, I gave him a wary look as I considered.

"You haven't actually apologised," I said crossing my arms, he sighed

"I'm sorry for being a dick earlier to you and your friends. I was being insensitive, I know how much you liked Buckbeak and I probably made it much worse. So I'm sorry" Draco said fiddling with his hands. I smiled to myself

"Thank you," I accepted and Draco nodded

"Yes you are forgiven," I sighed as he grinned.

"Thank Merlin, I don't think I could return to school knowing you were mad at me," He gave a breathy laugh making me raise my eyebrows.

"You've got a mean punch by the way," He chuckled making me blush

"Sorry about that. You did deserve it though," I shrugged.

"Yeah I know," He agreed. He then looked over my head into the dark corridor and pulled me and himself out. We walked quietly together

"Write to me over the break," He said suddenly

"What?" I asked laughing

"Please? I want to be friends," Draco said as we passed the classrooms. I nodded giving it some thought

"Alright fine, but you have to write back and you're not allowed to be a dick about it," I sighed.

"I won't I promise" He smiled. We walked in silence for the rest of the trip to my common room.

"Well, goodnight then," Draco said as we neared the portrait.

"Goodnight Draco," I waved as he left. I gave the password and entered the warm room and headed to bed.
