Having dragged their children out of the guesthouse and moved them back into their mansion, after berating the police to let them move back in. Mr and Mrs Black sent Madison straight to her bedroom. Liam was told quite bluntly to go home by Madison's father.

Madison was humiliated. But she was also furious with them. Suddenly they were acting like parents. Protective and responsible.

This was the first time Madison and her brother had seen their parents in months. In fact, it had been almost a year since they'd last seen them.

I guess ruining the family's reputation and a obtaining a criminal record would gain her parent's attention. But not in the way she had wanted.

It had been a few hours since she had been sent to her room. There was no way they were going to let her out of the house in the middle of the night. So she was just going to have to get creative if she wanted to confront Jake Owens.

Just after midnight, Madison was shimmying down a pipe that she often used to sneak out of the house in the night. It was just outside her bedroom and near her window, so she could easily get to it without any trouble.

She made sure to leave a note on her bed in case anything happened to her while she was gone.

As she marched down the driveway, she spotted Liam's car parked down the road and headed straight for it.

Madison and Liam were parked outside Jake's house in the dark. In the dead of night. The radio wasn't on as they were trying to keep quiet and stay hidden.

They had been waiting a couple of hours when Liam spoke up.

"So, how did things go with your parents?" He asked her.

"Not good, as I literally had to sneak out of my bedroom window and shimmy down a drain pipe to get out of the house." Madison answered.

Liam chuckled. "I sure would've loved to have seen that."

Madison laughed with him. And for a moment, everything was normal. She was happy.

Then as quickly as the moment had started, it ended. Liam heard Jake shut the side door of his house and quietly started the car engine.

Madison put on her seatbelt, ready to follow Jake. They drove through town following him for a while, when Madison realised where he was going.

"Why the hell is Jake going to the school?" She muttered to herself.

When Jake parked his car behind the school. Liam parked his round the corner and they got out, walking silently behind him.

Jake seemed paranoid and constantly looked behind his shoulder. Madison and Liam hid behind a bush when he stopped walking and Jake was stood directly under one of the side entrances of the school.

"What is he doing?" Liam whispered to Madison.

"I think he's waiting for someone." She whispered back.

Her suspicions were confirmed when Carter came from the other side of the street and walked towards Jake.

Madison watched them talk to each other. It looked intense. She wished that she could hear what they were saying.

Madison and Liam stayed hidden in the shadows, watching them. It seems that they were waiting for someone to join them.

"I swear if Grayson or Adam appear, I'm out of here." Liam comments.

But Liam was wrong. They weren't joined by Grayson or Adam, but instead joined by someone who Madison could only describe as a junkie.

He passed them a small brown parcel and they gave him a bag that was filled with who knows what.

Madison was desperate to know what was going on so she crept closer and hid behind a wall near them. Thankfully they didn't see her and Liam stayed hidden behind the bushes wondering what the hell Madison was thinking?!

Madison could hear them clearly now.

"It's all there, you can count it." Jake told the stranger.

"That's alright, as long as you understand there's only one way out of this deal you have with my boss." The junkie spoke roughly, warning them.

"We don't want out." Carter replied.

"I hope not. Because if you do, I assure you. You'll both end up in body bags."

Madison's heart was pounding. What had Jake and Carter got themselves caught up in.

She peered round the wall to see the guys backs to her. This was her chance. The bag was on the floor and it was open. Full to the brim with cash.

There must be thousands of dollars in that bag. Madison thought.

She took pictures of them with the bag on the floor. Liam could see what she was doing, so he did the same.

I guess it couldn't hurt to have a back up.

The junkie left the boys and headed down an alleyway. Madison caught Liam's eye and nodded her head at the alleyway, telling him to follow her. They snuck away from the school and followed the junkie. He walked and walked until he stopped by a car. They watched him unlock it and put the parcel in the trunk of the car.

Once he locked it, he carried on walking down the street. Once he was out of sight, Madison and Liam hurried towards the car.

"I have to know what's in that parcel that the boys gave him." Madison told Liam.

"Whatever it is, it can't be good." Liam replied.

Madison made Liam keep watch while she battled with the lock on the car, keen on not setting off the alarm.

Finally she managed to pry the trunk open and there it was, sitting there. She grabbed the brown parcel and quickly opened it.

She shook her head and showed it to Liam.

"It's exactly what I thought they were doing. Dealing drugs. And now we have proof."

She took pictures of it, and put it back in the trunk. Then Madison and Liam headed back to his car.

Once they were back on the road, Madison felt her body calm down a little and relax. If that was even possible for her to do.

All of her friends had secrets. That was clear to Madison. But the last thing she expected Jake and Carter to be doing, was dealing drugs. They were both extremely rich. There was no need for them to earn more money. Their families were sitting in millions of it. What was this they were doing?! Was it some kind of escape from everything. From the pressure of their reputations. Some kind of rebellion perhaps.

Whatever it was they had got themselves into. Madison would gladly watch them both fall into that black hole. And if Jake Owens ever decided to cross her again, she had what she needed to take him down. Once and for all.

They'd arrived on Madison's street before she even realised it. She was so lost in her thoughts.

"Here we are." Liam announces. "If there is anything you need tomorrow. Let me know."

Madison was puzzled for a moment. What was happening tomorrow? Then she suddenly realised. Tomorrow was Jade Miller's funeral.
