It's the morning after and today is the day that I am going on a date. Now unfortunately it is a coffee date so I have to do it in the morning. I have no clue what to wear, or say. The only interesting thing about me is gone, I mean I basically have no job. I now have that to add to my list of things to worry about. I hear a knock on my door and I groan. I get up and open the door to see Donna.
She barges her way in and looks at me, "you have a date in one hour how have you not started to get ready?" I sigh, "I've never really done the whole going out on a date in public thing. I have no clue what I am doing." She takes my hand and drags me to my room. "you said it was a coffee date right?" She walks over to my clothes and I sigh, "I think it's a date. I mean we never actually said the word." She gives me a 'really' look and then turns back to the clothes.
"wear this and bring money. Offer to half the bill, if he lets you it's not a date, if he insist even once then it is." She puts an outfit on the bed and walks out of the room. I look at the clothes and sigh. Time to get ready (outfit above). I cruel my hair and grab my purse. I walk into the living room to see Donna waiting, "you look amazing Daisy." I smile, "thanks, and maybe you are right this might be just as friends." She nods, "but it might not be, don't friend zone him or yourself too fast. I called for a taxi to take you to the coffee shop." She walks me outside and I head for the coffee shop.
I get there and pay the taxi. I walk out of the taxi and see Jake standing there. When he sees me he gives off his usual goofy smile. I smile back and walk up to him, "hey Jake, so do you want to go in." He nods and we walk in and get a table. I order my usual coffee order and I turn to him, "so what did you want to talk about." He smiles at me, "well I just wanted to say sorry, you know for the 200 questions." I laugh and he joins in, "it's fine really. I get it that's the only thing you really know about me." They bring us our coffees and I take a sip and so does he, "your right, but you seem really cool maybe we could get to know each other a bit more."
I nod, "what do you want to know." He sighs in what sounded like relief, "tell me about your family." I tell about how kind and how in love my parents are and how close I am with my sister. He tells me about his dad and how he has sister all over, he's just not met any of them. He then tells me about his friends for work and some cool cop stories. I laughs at some of them, he's like a big kid. I tell him about me helping out at PH and about the ballet case. We just spend our time joking around. It reaches the end and they bring us the check. I try to pay but he stops me, "what kind of gentleman would I be if I let you pay for the first date." I smile and let him pay.
We get a taxi and it drops me off first, he get out with me, "I had a god time." I smile, "I did too." He leans and we kiss, I pull away and walk into the office with a smile on my face. I get in the elevator and head up to PH. As I do I pass Mike and my smile drops, He's talking to someone about a case and he looks good. No I have to move on, I shake the idea out of my head and walk away.
I make my way to Jessica and knock on the door. She looks up and sends me a small smile, "Daisy come on in, what can I do for you." I take a seat in front for her desk and smile at her, "you the things that have been happening here with Donna is making me loose my job, and I love my job. So right now they have put me on leave with no pay, I'm not saying that has anything to do with you."
She nods along, "I'm sorry Daisy." I shake my head, "that's not your fault, really I mean it. It's just Mike said something that made me think. You see I did a case with Louis and it went really well, now I have been law school I know the ins and outs of the law. I mean my last job I was basically the law. I guess I'm asking if you could give me a job for the time being. You know so I can make rent and have food in my fridge." She looks up at me and smiles, "if you can get me a recommendation and proof of that law degree then the job is yours." My whole face brightens up and I take my leave.
