Magnus's pov

It never struck me that dad was going to be there which means Alec can't come, I don't know why but Alec got so upset and he hung the phone. I mean I know I can't blame him, all he wanted to do was see me. I want to see him too, more than I want to see my dad. He never cared for me that much anyways, he never called me he was on business trip 24/7. He even came to London for a business trip but never cared to see me once and also gave me a justification saying 'he didn't have time' whereas Alec flew all the way here to wish me for my birthday and now I have made him upset.

I landed and as I made my way to the front after collecting all my baggage I immediately spotted my dad waiting for me, he was talking to someone on the phone so he didn't notice me. I walked towards him.

"Dad!" I called.

"Magnus! You're here." He told as he pulled me into a tight hug, I hugged back

"How was your trip?" he asked

"Trip? Dad this wasn't a trip"

"Yah ok whatever you call it, how was it?"

"It was great dad I learned so many new things that I never thought existed and also made new friends."

"I'm so happy for you Mags and sorry I was not able to call you the last few months, I was busy." He said and I mentally rolled my eyes 'busy my ass, didn't find one minute in the last 5 months to call me'

"it's fine, you were busy" I replied

"let's go home, you get refreshed and then you rest today we'll go out for lunch and then a movie tomorrow, it's been a long time since we had a father and son time." He said.

I wanted to say no, because I wanted to see Alec so bad but I couldn't really deny him, I mean looks like he did miss me this past year. I obeyed him, went to home and got refreshed and went straight to bed, I was really tired and didn't get proper sleep so I fell asleep almost immediately even though it was just morning.

After a few hours I woke up to my phone ringing, I smiled as I saw who it was, Alec. I was about to take the call when my dad entered the room so I panicked and cut the call by accident. He came towards me so I put the phone down

"You feeling better now?" he asked

"Yah so much better." I replied

"Ok then well since even I don't have anything to do, how about we just watch some series at home."

"uhh...yah I think that is a good idea." I told him, 'but it was not, I WANT to see Alec'

"ok then I'll prepare some popcorn what do you say?"

"Yah that sounds good" I replied

Why is he doing this now??? All this time he didn't do anything. I took my phone to text alec but my dad suddenly grabbed my phone away from my hand

"DAD! What the hell?" I almost shouted

"Boy I'm trying to talk to you and you keep getting distracted, what is up with you?" he asked

"umm..nothing I'm j-just a little tired I guess." I replied even though it was clearly a lie

"fine then why don't you go back to your room and rest, don't strain yourself Magnus." My dad said and I got up and went to my room

I was finally relieved that I went away from him, I locked my room and that's when I realized I left my phone down 'shit' I mumbled to myself and went down to get it. He threw it in the couch so it was supposed to be there, I went to get it but it was not there.

"DAD!" I shouted

"What is it?" He replied from his room

"Where is my phone?" i asked

"How am I supposed to know Mags, I don't have it." He replied in a rather mocking tone

"Dad this isn't funny I need my phone." I told him sternly

"And I don't have it with me." He replied

"Dad I need to call my...friends, I really need it right now." I told him angrily

"Okay then use my phone, I'm telling you I don't have it." He replied with a chuckle this time

"This isn't funny dad, why are you laughing now?" i raised my voice as I stormed into his room.

"Magnus how many times do I tell you I don't have it with me ."

"Then where the hell is it!? I need it right now!" I shouted

"Calm down bud we'll find it I'm pretty sure it's right here" he replied and got down from his bed and tried searching for it in the living room but he couldn't find it. I got so pissed I ran to my room and slammed my door shut. After a while I heard a faint knock on the door, I went to open it and found a gift box. I bent down and opened it...it was a new phone. I went to the living room to find my dad standing there and smiling at me with my phone in his hand. later we spoke for a while and I thanked him for the phone and a few hours later he left saying he had some work.

I took out my new phone and immediately called Alec...no response, I tried calling again but this time it came switched off. Every single one of my calls went to voicemail and I called Izzy she picked up but she was busy she said "I don't know where Alec is but he was a little upset though, did you guys fight or something?" she asked and before I could reply she said she was busy and cut the call. I then tried calling Jace "hey! Magnus how have you been?" he asked

"I'm fine Jace, do you know where Alec is?"

"No but he said he was coming to see you and then I left, I'm at clary's place right now, why is there anything wrong?"

"No no it's fine you guys carry on I'll see to it myself." I replied not wanting to disturb them
