Alec's pov

"Alexander?" magnus asked astound. He probably wouldn't have expected this.

"Happy birthday...?"

I said and awkwardly just stood there. Magnus stayed silent he didn't say anything he was just staring. I now almost started regretting it when he yanked me into his dorm and closed the door shut.

"what are you doing here!?" He half-shouted confused.

"What? I shouldn't have come here?" I asked regretting this whole thing

"Alec my dad made me stay in campus so he can keep tabs on me, if he found out you were here he will kill me." Magnus replied

"I'm sorry, I j-just wanted to surprise you." I said stuttering

"Even a text from you would've surprised me. Anyways what are you doing in London? You have school going on now right?"

"I came with my family."

"then how the hell did Robert even let you come here?" magnus asked

"Well let's just say he's not here because he isn't family anymore." I replied trying to keep my voice neutral

"What?" Magnus asked softly

"Long story," I said sighing

"I'm listening" he said smiling and gesturing me towards the couch.

I went there and sat and magnus came and sat beside me, carefully maintaining the distance.

I told him everything about my dad and why we came here and also how everyone convinced me to meet him. I didn't know when but I started crying I couldn't hold them any longer. I tried being strong but again by the end of the day he is still my father and I loved him...well not anymore.

"oh Alec, I'm so sorry." Magnus said and he placed his hands on my shoulder.

"I don't know Magnus, I am worried about my mom even though she pretends to be happy like she's fine with it, deep down she's broken and there's nothing I can do about it." I admitted

"Alec none of this is your fault, all you can do right now is be a good son and support her. Alec look, your mom is a strong woman, she'll get through it." Magnus reassured

"Yahh, thank you Magnus." I replied smiling

"oh and I almost forgot!" I said and handed over the gift to him

He looked surprised and took it from my hand and opened the little box.

"What's this?" he asked smiling

"it's an omamori charm, I got it from a Japanese shop. It's supposed to give you luck and protection." I told him

"That's very thoughtful Alexander, thank you but to be honest I never thought I would see you for another year. I wanted to call before I left but I didn't know how would react so I left it." He said with that smile never leaving his face. He looked so beautiful and was still shirtless which was a little distracting.

"You're staring." Magnus pointed and my cheeks instantly turned blood red

"I-I was j-just thinking about s-something. Actually I came to airport to see you and wish good luck but I didn't know the time and I was a late, by the time I came your flight took off" I replied and he just smiled

"I didn't know about that." he said

"so, what about you, how are you enjoying this school?" i asked him to change the topic.

"It's really great here, just like I've always dreamt of." He said

"I'm glad you're happy." I said.

"Alec there's something you need to know." He said and told me everything about Camille.

"I can't believe she did this, I trusted her. Guess I shouldn't have." I replied still in shock.

"Alec whatever it was it is in the past now there's no use of talking about this let's think about the future."

"Magnus actually, I came here not only to wish you but to also ask you something."

"Yah what is it?" he asked

"Magnus I want to start things over, for now at least just as friends. I know it's too much to ask for, after I turned you down because of Camille-" I started

"Alec leave it, it's all in the past and yes we can be friends, I guess there's no harm in that." He said smiling.

"Thank you" I said.

We were just sitting there in silence, a comfortable silence. We knew that's what we needed.

"I guess I should probably head out, Jace is waiting for me he's going to kill me." I said after a while getting up from the couch.

"Yah I guess you should." He said sounding a little upset.

I got up and was about to leave when Magnus grabbed my wrist, I turned around and he got up.

"How long are going to be here?" he asked

"About a 2 weeks I guess." I told him and he smiled.

"Can we meet again? I guess we have a lot to catch up." He said

"I'd love to." I said and leaned in to hug him, he returned the hug by putting his arms around my neck, I was able to feel his breath on my bare skin and his warmth it felt very familiar almost like home, I didn't want to leave him. I stayed there, both of us did. Without saying anything.

After a few seconds I pulled back and I could feel the warmth leave me almost instantly.

"Bye Magnus, happy birthday once again." I said smiling

"Bye Alec." He said and I left his dorm unwillingly but it had been way past midnight and I had to go.
