Liv broke the silence first, "did you hear that?"
I jumped and broke my trance, listening to the outside noises while I cleared the search history on my computer, I shut it down and shoved into the bag between us. I looked at Liv, "want to ride a wolf again?" I asked her in a low whisper, she nodded. She added her laptop to the bag and pulled it onto her back. Grabbing our big duffle bag, she had packed off the floor, she turned to me.I moved away slowly and looked at the windows by the front door, I didn't see anything but that didn't mean much since it was almost nighttime again. "What time is it?", I whispered to Liv.
She pulled a cell phone out of her purse "8:37" she said looking back up at me.
I looked around the yard again, from the window. I saw nothing but I knew something or someone was close because I could feel the heat in my body, "let's go" I shifted in two steps and Liv opened the back patio doors, I walked through them and she followed, closing the doors as silent as possible. She climbed onto my back and held on, I took off running into the woods, within seconds we were covered by the trees and I could see everything around me as I ran. This time I really wasn't sure where I was going, I just ran and ran until I felt safe, then I stopped to figure out where I was. Liv climbed off me and I took human form again sitting on the ground, Liv sat down with me, "where is my phone?"
She pulled it from her purse and handed it to me, I pulled up maps and found out we were in the middle of the woods around the back side of town. I looked at Liv, "do you feel safe?" I asked her.
She closed her eyes for a moment, and I watched her, she whispered "for now."I nodded.
I stood up and pulled her off the ground, "well, we are in the middle of the woods and no one is behind us", I looked around, "yet." It seems we’re always adding the word yet to everything we do or say these days. I really wanted to change that, I started to shift back, and Liv paused, looking around. I'm pretty sure we saw the weird guy at the same time, Liv ran behind me as I shifted towards the guy. She climbed onto my back as he tried to talk to me.
"Rosalinda" he said to me. I stepped back, "I don't want to hurt you" he stepped towards me and it was way to close. I decided he deserved the same fate as his creepy friend, so I lunged with Liv on my back and grabbed the guy in my jaws. He screamed out "Miss Dresmin please" and I froze, dropping him. Rosalinda was odd enough to hear but I read that before on the notes in my house, but I just found out my last name? Or what they thought was my last name, since the half naked guys and the guys in suits were right about the werewolf thing, I decided that they were probably right about the name, or my name. Whatever it maybe, I committed it to memory as I took off running in the opposite direction of town and of my past, I had something to figure out I wasn't sure if it was my future or my past but I was going to know every single detail I could find on the RWG and Rosalinda Dresmin. This was my newest choice, the only person that I would tell anything to was Liv. Once again it was going to be Liv and I against the world, though I was pretty sure we were more than best friends now or this whole thing was a dream. A million thoughts, literally flowed through my head as I ran away from the town, I grew up in with the only person who knew who I was anymore, riding on my back.
It was about a half hour before we hit town lines, I stopped inside the wood line and shifted back, Liv smiled "Where are we?" she was looking past the trees at all the lights.
"The next town over I want to see what we can find out about how all this stuff ties together, especially with me" I took her hand and we walked through the trees onto the sidewalk.
I looked around, "there is a library" Liv said pointing to the left."Great place to start" I said to her as we started towards the doors, the sign posted said it was open till 10, we had about an hour. Perfect time to at least find something about Dresmin or how the RWG tied in with me, at least I hoped so.
