Taeyong hugs his knees to his chest underneath the covers of his soft bed, feeling no emotions but emptiness and sadness. His parents have been overprotective ever since that day, and curfew was put into place a lot earlier than normal.
It was once again his birthday, his 23rd to be exact. He was more than an adult now and his brother was also now an adult. Yet they still had such strict rules.
Despite spending his birthday with Jaehyun, Taeyong felt really empty and was already missing that silver haired goof.
It was so unfair, and he ruined his only chance of having complete freedom to explore this universe a while ago.
The evening turned into night, making the pink haired feel tired but not to the point of sleeping. The void was shining brightly still so he closed his blinds, sitting on the edge of his bed once more.
He was so incredibly bored, and maybe his parents wouldn't mind him going out of his room for just a little bit, maybe going to the library in their specific area of the palace.
Taeyong crept out of his room and tip-toed passed his parents room, opening the main door and walking out into the hall. He released a breath, making his way to the library.
The door opened silently, much to his appreciation, and he entered the room with rows of books as far as the eye could see. Luckily he spends most of his time in this place, or he would get lost fairly easily.
Taeyong walked around with slumped shoulders, glancing at books occasionally but mostly stuck with his thoughts. Until something caught his attention, a book that was pushed out of its shelf slightly with a golden spine and black covers.
It looked intriguing, and weirdly called to the pink haired as he grabbed it without hesitation.
"The history of our mirrors." Taeyong mumbled, raising an eyebrow. He honestly had no clue what a mirror even was, but it sounded foreign.
