Jeno woke up to a tapping on his knee, startling awake and swinging his head forward that was rested against the wall. He saw Chenle in front of him, shushing his thoughts immediately before Jeno could even speak. His eyes then traveled lower, seeing a head of honey hair resting on his slanted stomach that was connected to a curled up Nana.
"Your work day is almost over. If that's where they are, then we need to be awake and ready to go," Chenle whispered, but the talking was enough to wake up Nana as he shifted and groaned.
Chenle quickly made a gesture for them to come into the main area of the kitchen where everyone was currently sat, Taeyong looking utterly dreadful while Mark looked replenished. Jeno bet that the pink haired man didn't get a wink of sleep, making him feel pity for the older.
Nana groaned and stretched out his limbs, still pressing his head down on his torso and causing Jeno to hold his breath and stop himself from sliding down the wall. The younger noticed this, instantly sitting himself up with a sorry expression.
"S-sorry, I didn't mean to uhm..," Nana motioned with his hands but Jeno only chuckled, finding it sort of cute for getting so flustered.
"It's alright, seriously. Let's go over by the others, I think they're expecting us," Jeno said and shifted to his knees, holding a hand out for Nana to take which he hesitantly did. Instead of standing up and walking over, they just slid along the floor since it was a short distance from them.
"Oh good, you guys are awake," Taeyong said and motioned for them to join the circle which they did.
"So, my idea is to wait until they split up so they aren't as hard to hold back," Mark said and looked at everyone for validation.
"How will we do that?" Chenle questioned and Nana and Jeno moved their heads back and forth to look at the two.
"Just naturally. Wait till one of them has to use the bathroom or something," Mark explained and Chenle nodded.
"What about you guys? Does that sound alright?" Chenle suddenly asked the two who were just sitting quietly while listening to the conversation.
Jeno blinked and nodded, almost not remembering what was being said from his mind too preoccupied with nervousness. Nana also nodded silently, then looking over to Jeno who was staring at the floor and beginning to feel the exact same way.
This may be their last chance to actually solve anything and get rid of their monsters once and for all. That was a lot of pressure on their shoulders, which is why a sick feeling twisted over them.
Jeno began tapping his fingers on the tiled floor beneath them, creating a little sound distraction to try and relieve some of the anxiety building in his chest. If only that was the only sound he could hear for a longer amount of time, because only minutes after, the sound of a car door being slammed was heard throughout the house.
