The mirror swirled with green once more until a figure crawled through, landing harshly on the bathroom counter and accidentally falling onto the hard floor. Taeyong groaned and raised his head, looking at the still closed bathroom door and having hope that the monsters didn't catch on to what he had been doing.
Taeyong pushes himself out, swiftly opening the door and walking down the stairs. He saw monster Jeno with bandages in his hands, carefully wrapping the other monster's wounds that had appeared from smashing the mirror in.
Monster Jaemin was staring dreamily at the other monster, it glancing up occasionally and giving him a smile. Taeyong cringed and walked over to the dining table, noticing Mark already staring at him.
"What did you do?" Mark whispered, giving him a look that implied he better have done the right thing.
Taeyong leaned over his chair and down to his ear. "They're safe. Now that everything is mostly fixed, we need to go back to the original plan but multiply it by two," he said and gestured to the two monsters.
Mark nodded and gave him a smile. "Thank you."
While the two monsters were still chatting and fixing each other's wounds, Taeyong went around and whispered the same thing to Jisung and Chenle, describing how it may be more difficult with two monsters, but they still had a chance. He also managed to loosen their tied hands while talking, doing it so stealthily that the two boys almost didn't notice.
"Mark explained everything to me," Donghyuck spoke in a whisper as well, catching Taeyong off guard as he turned to the redhead.
"Everything?" the pink haired questioned.
Donghyuck nodded and looked towards the ground. "Yes, and I'm deeply sorry for screwing things up."
Taeyong let a soft smile slip. His little brother sure did know how to pick the good ones. He was about to speak, but a voice cut him off.
"Stop speaking to them, Taeyong," monster Jeno said, noticing that he was conversing too quietly for them to hear.
But Mr. Na walked up and gently placed a hand on his shoulder, catching the monster's attention as he turned his face to him. "It is alright. Taeyong finally helped us, and now we've done it. Your brother is free to go."
Taeyong felt his heart stop at that sentence. He looked from the honey haired boss and down to Mark, noticing his big round eyes staring back up at him. The pink haired wasted no more time in hesitating, and immediately began to untie the very well done knot.
Mark stood up, rubbing his wrists and looking between the monsters and his brother, then to Donghyuck who was looking at him with worried eyes. It hurt his heart to see that, and he nudged his brother to get him to realize.
