"Why the hell were there so many," Jeno trailed off while sitting on the closed toilet of the bathroom, staring off into space while lost in thought. Nana sat to his right on the edge of the bathtub, observing Mark who was currently disinfecting the scratches Taeyong obtained.
"I bet you anything that it is because those monsters found out about the new portal," Taeyong muttered and closed his eyes, trying to ignore the stinging feeling.
Nana seemed to be as lost as Jeno at the moment, not even able to add to the conversation while feeling the adrenaline still pumping through his veins. He hated monsters so much, and had always hated them since he first was trapped in the mirror. That was quite the scare back there.
"What do we do now..?" Jeno softly asked and fiddled his thumbs together. This just seemed all over the place, and it felt like they couldn't keep up a plan for the life of them. Why was the universe so against them?
Mark pulled the last cotton ball away from the pink haired man's last scratch, throwing it towards the garbage and missing by a centimeter. Taeyong lowered his head and gave a small thanks to his brother, then turning to the two others.
"We just have to wait. And be sneaky," Taeyong said and narrowed his eyes. "We should check out the house and release the four boys tied up, but we must be careful. Who knows where or what those monsters are doing right now."
Jeno nodded, finally hearing something that made him comfortable. Releasing the ones he cares about, Chenle, Donghyuck, and Jisung. That would finally bring a little more peace to his mind if they manage to set them free.
"We have to stealthily move around the house in case they're here," Mark whispered and grabbed the doorknob, turning it as quietly as possible and peering through the cracked door. Once the coast was deemed clear, he waved for everyone to follow.
There were no signs of anyone upstairs, so they carefully began creeping downwards, cautious not to make any sudden noises while descending the staircase.
The downstairs was empty as well, causing confusion to settle over the four. It appeared the house was vacant, but they should still keep their eyes peeled for any signs of the monsters.
"They're gone," Jeno whispered while looking towards the dining area.
"Yeah, our monsters must've gone somewhere," Nana whispered back while standing next to him, but Jeno only shook his head.
"No no, the ones tied up. They're not there."
Jeno pointed towards the living area as the younger scrunched his eyebrows. The man was right, there were no signs of the boys or the chairs they were sat in.
"Where'd they go?" Nana muttered, Jeno biting his lip and having a feeling he knew.
"This house is a bit older than it looks. It was built in a different time, and even though I never go down there, there's a small bunker underneath of this place," Jeno said and looked towards the kitchen, immediately beginning to walk towards it as his footsteps echoed through the hall.
