As the years went by, I learned that one of the most unexpected things in life was life itself. It continues to throw surprises at you, and it's up to you if you could take it like a champion, or let it destroy you.

I had to be strong, I knew that. And that's definitely what I did to survive and thrive. I just had to hold on to hope, and to a small miracle.

"Getting off, early?" Margie walks over to me as I finished changing my clothes. I closed my locker and smiled at her. "Yup, you know what day it is today." She tilts her head and comes closer, engulfing me in a tight hug.

" You're squeezing the life out of me." I giggle, both of us laughing. "Just want to comfort you for a bit." I smile and hug her back. "Awee, thank you. But I'm fine. You know that." She pulls back and nods her head. "I know, I know. You strong girl!"

I laugh and shake my head. We hang out for a bit before I finally take my leave. "Squeeze the little one for me, okay?" She yells as I exit the room, making me smile.

Walking towards the pediatric wing, I make my way towards daycare.

"Good afternoon, Dr. Sperbund." The nurse greets me as I enter the colorful room filled with children of all ages. I nod at her and smile, my eyes scanning the room for a doe eyed angel.

When I spot her, my smile only grows wider. Walking over to her, I watch her eyes light up as she spots me. "Mommy!" She welcomes me with her adorable high pitched voice, showcasing me her pearly whites as she displays her dimpled smile.

"Hi baby." I squat down, my three year old automatically tucking herself in my embrace. "Having fun?" She enthusiastically nods her head shows me her toys. "I had a tea party, mommy." She says, proudly presenting the setup she prepared.

I smile as I watch my perfect creation. Her dimples bury deep everytime she smiles, her lips red as blood. It was my most favorite traits she got from her dad. She was a perfect mixture of me and her father. She got my face shape, and my eyes and my nose. She definitely got the Nadech thick perfectly shaped eyebrows, and the long thick lashes that shielded her eyes.

"Are you ready to go?" I say as I stroke her soft brown long hair. "Wait, I have to finish my cup of tea."  I giggle as I watch her gulp on the empty cup.

"Now, I'm ready." I smile and stand up, taking her small hand in mine as we walk. I watch in awe as she takes small skips, waving at the nurses goodbye.

What I loved the most about her was that she was a literal ball of sunshine. She smiles at everyone, and she easily makes friends out of anyone. I'm pretty sure she takes it from her dad.

That little girl is the reason why I wake up in the morning. Why I endure the whole day, anticipating coming home to her warm welcome of hugs and kisses. I didn't know how love could get greater until I had her.

Picking her up from her car seat, I gently set her on the ground. "Mommy can I carry the flowers?" She looks at me with her puppy dog eyes and it was always impossible to say no to her pretty face.

"Sure thing, sweetheart." I take the flowers from the front seat before I close the door. "You sure?" I raise a playful eyebrow at her and she giggles nodding her head.

"Thank you, mommy." Her usual enthusiastic voice resonates. Sometimes I'd look at her , and think that if she weren't mine, I wouldn't believe she was real.

"Now, what did I tell you?" She turns around to me, and I almost laugh at how funny she looked carrying a basket of flowers almost as big as she is.
