Becoming

Chapter 2

My alarm sound wakes me up. "Grrr shut up!" I shout as I put off my alarm. I hate mornings, but atleast I get to do what I love. I love my job, it can be challenging however that's what I find intriguing about it. I make my bed, neatly fold my pajamas and go to my closet to check my otd. Being a Legal intern basically means wearing formal clothes. It can either be a two piece suit, pants, skirt or a dress and a coat above that and how can I forget heels.

I finally settle on a blouse I bought last week and a pencil skirt. "okay that's it then" I sigh to myself as I make my way to the shower. Clop clop clop the ceiling in the bathroom makes an echoing noise as I enter. "You have got to be kidding me!" I can't believe the geyser is leaking heavily I thought it wouldn't be this bad until friday when the plumber comes to take a look at it.

Great.

I take a cold quick shower instead and make sure to call the guy to check the geyser today or tomorrow, because I don't know what I'll do if it gets worse and I basically end up having a flood in my apartment. tragic

I am not making much money at the moment as I'm still an intern. I honestly can't afford to be having out of nowhere expenses like paying for a new geyser. Oh God I Mentally scold at the situation as I'm trying to dodge the massive traffic. I turn on the radio and listen to the morning drive, at least that will keep my mind off a lot of things.

"Hey wanna grab lunch?" I look up and see Saun. I smile and look at my watch not having realised that it's lunch time already. "oh wow, it's lunch time hmmm I will just have a fruit thank you though"  I smile back at him. "A fruit, you have been at it since this morning and you haven't even had coffee yet" he says while still standing by the door with his arms crossed.

"Are you Spying on me" I take off my spectacles. "who me?, please" he laughs. He starts to speak again, but I'm already up with my handbag in my hand. "You're right, I could use some coffee, this case is a lot" I sigh."that's my girl" he laughs and puts his hand over my shoulder.

Few moments later...

"I think Greg has a thing for you" Saun looks at me as I sip my coffee. "Haha, you know I don't have time for that" I look back at his big eyes. He has the most beautiful blue eyes I'm so jealous and his eyebrows are every girl's dream.  "Come on, you haven't had any loving since you moved here!" he goes on with trying to play match up. "I've only been here for 6 months" I dryly say. "Exactly... Six months without..." He sticks out his tongue as a gesture to say I haven't has sex in, well since I moved here.

"I really want to focus on my internship and it's not easy!" I put down my cup and feel a sting in my eyes. Why do I feel like crying no we can't do this we have worked so hard to go back to that place, I know it has only been 6 months, but you have come so far I internally argue with myself.

"I know but I want you to be happy you are in a new city, try to do new things, go out and just live your life" I smile at Seun's words. "... And besides who says lawyers, attorneys and judges don't have lives" he laughs as if he's thinking of something.

The day goes really fast and I  decide to leave at 4 pm even though my team leader told us we can knock off 3 pm today. I look out the office window and see that it's about to come down in a few so I quickly pack my files. "Should I take you home..." I question myself as I look at a case that I have been struggling with for two weeks. I finally decide to take it and do extra work at home, it's not like I have anything exciting to do after work anyway.

"You're still here..." I recognize the voice before I even look up. "Hey Greg" I smile at him. "Most people have left, but you're forever hard working as usual" he smiles more. "What can I say, duty calls" I jiggle one file in the air. He laughs. "Well I'm heading out, been a long day" he says. " I'm about to head off too, I see it's about to rain and I hate driving in the rain" I begin to pack quickly. Greg walks towards my desk "Drive safely and have a good night's rest" he touches my hand.

I just look at him and tell him the same. Should I have felt butterflies or something grrr Seun was right, the look in his eyes definitely had an emotion I couldn't understand. Anyway, I have to get home before it rains cats and dogs.
