Jingle bells jingle bells jingle all the way...
I can't believe it's two week away from Christmas and the firm is having a Christmas party nextweek. I'm sitting anxiously in my office chair, because tomorrow I get to find out whether or not I will be joining as a full Attorney next year.
"Here" I look up at Saun with a raised brow. "Just take it" he presses as he hands me the nicely wrapped box. "what is it?" I smile taking the box. "I want to say, I don't know what will happen tomorrow, but I hope you join the team because girl you are amazing!" he smiles. I stand up and hug him. I guess I could say he has become a friend.
The next morning I decided to go all out. I wear a black suit, block heels and leave my hair down. I apply more makeup than usual, but still not too dramatic. As I'm exiting the lift I come across Greg. "Looking wonderful Anna" he smiles. "Thank you. Today is a big day" I chuckle and realise my nerves have risen more since I arrived at my workplace.
"I hope you join us. You are an intelligent woman" he compliments me and I feel my cheeks heat. Don't get me wrong Im not attracted to him, but hearing him compliment me was nice. "Thank you Greg I hope H.R thinks so too" I chuckle and make my way to the office that has become my office for the past 11 months.
The company took in four interns. Two girls and two guys. We all want a spot in the firm and we all worked hard inorder to earn a spot now it is all upto to HR to decide who stays and who goes.
"Thank you for your hard work and dedication. Each and everyone of you has shown that you are worthy of becoming one of our Attorneys, however we can't take all of you" he says and at this point I feel like crying, because I really want to officially join Simmons and Adkins.
"David Fredericks and Annalise Montgomery... " he reads from the iPad. I look up and wait in anticipation. "I am pleased to announce that you will be joining us as our new Staff as of next year" The man smiles and hands us each an envelope. I'm guessing it is our contract.
To say I'm happy is an understatement. I am beyond thrilled, of course I had faith in myself, because I worked so hard to make sure I earned a spot in this company. There were moments of doubts here and there, but I always remain positive as possible.
