You know that feeling when the world is smiling at you and you're smiling back. That's how I've been feeling for a while. It's been three weeks since I went to the Lakehouse with Greg and our relationship has been stronger. We've been dating for seven months and it feels longer than that to be honest.
"Why are you smiling like a goofball?" Saun asks smirking at me. "Nothing" I shake my head. We have these random chats at work where he would come and sit in my office towards knockoff. "Girl Greg's got you wrapped around his finger" he says tapping his fingers on the desk. "Anyways, Nextweek new interns are coming and I have to play Nanny with them" he playfully remarks.
Saun has been working here for Four years and he's a good Attorney. "Oh now I know how you felt when I came here" I laugh. "Girl shut up. I swear when you came in it was as though you've been doing this thing for years" he looks at me. Greg knocks on the door and Saun winks at me standing up and smiles at Greg before closing the door behind him.
"How was court? " I ask as he kisses my cheek. I know for some people working in the same workplace with your partner is not ideal, but I don't see anything wrong with it. "Hectic" he sighs. "Wanna talk about it?" I ask packing my files. "I would rather not. I came to tell you I'll be working till late so can you take a uber home? " he stands up.
I silently look at him. "Come on Greg it's Friday and why didn't you tell me this morning, I would've taken my car" I break eye contact. "It was short notice" he says. I don't say anything besides shrug. "Lighten up babe" he massages my shoulder. "I was just hoping we would go to gym together later" I say. "Tomorrow we'll go I promise" he assures me.
I haven't taken an Uber in a long time and I've forgot how awkward these rides can be. The driver keeps making small talk and I respond anyway in ordee to not appear rude. "Thank you. Enjoy your evening" I say giving him the money and exiting the car. He smiles and tells me the same.
Too tired to go to gym I settle on preparing dinner. I've been living with Greg for two months and when I first moved in the house was a bit intimidating because it is really big. It's basically a mansion, but I'm not complaining it's a beautiful house.
2 months back
"See if you lived with me we wouldn't need to go back and forth to get your work clothes" Greg tells me as we ride to my Apartment. "I've made up my mind.I think I'll move in with you" I tell him and his hand moves to touch my thigh.
"Really?" he grins and I turn down the volume of the radio. "Yeah, I mean what harm is it going to do. I'm practically at your place most days" I tell him. "Okay, so how about doing it this weekend?" he hasn't stopped grinning since I told him the news.

"I'll definitely miss you" I smile into Kevin's arms. "Don't forget about me" I tell him and he laughs. "Come on we'll still hangout". Greg clears his throat and Kevin releases me. I must say leaving this complex is emotional. This has been my home since I moved to Cape Town. Yes I lived here a little while, but I'll definitely miss this place.Present day
The time is 20:54 and Greg still hasn't gotten back from work. I sent him a text thirty minutes ago, but he still hasn't replied. I decide to dish a plate for him and place it in the warmer for when he comes back.
My phone rings and I'm slightly disappointed it's not Greg, but also happy my friend Sam is calling me. We haven't spoken in a while. We talk for almost an hour and I have to say as soon as we both say goodbye my mood is on a lighter note. I make my way to bed, and try calling Greg this time and he doesn't pick up. I hope he's okay.
