Okay now I know I may seem rude to just stare at him without taking the pamphlet, but I wasn't expecting him to invite me to his church. "Oh?" I finally say. "I don't mean to be forward and I know we are not that close, but my church is hosting a Women's day brunch this coming Saturday" he says.

"Women's day brunch?" I ask and look at the nicely designed pamphlet. "I thought since you're a woman and my neighbor you might like to come" he scratches the back of his neck. I'm guessing he is stressing or thinking I'm finding this awkward, I mean I don't even go to his church however it's an invitation for anyone.

"Okay thank you" I don't mention that there is a possibility that I might not show up, because my parents are coming over. "Great. See you tomorrow to finish up the ceiling" he walks towards the door. "Alright see you".

My parents call me to confirm that they are coming Thursday and it's already Tuesday. Yesterday Kevin and his guys finished fixing the damage from my burst geyser. So now here I am taking my items back to my bedroom. By the time I finish its 21:07 I'm hungry and tired so I decide to have cereal for dinner.

The silence in my apartment is making me emotional. I know I love my peace, but sometimes I wish I was living with someone. I also wish I had more friends here in Cape Town, because to be honest Seun is a colleague that I'm close with I can't really say we are friends. We don't hang out outside work.

I notice the pamphlet that Kevin came to give me Sunday night. He goes to Hillsong and the event starts at 11 am till 1 pm. I find myself wondering if Kevin is originally a Capetonian. Where he lived before moving to this complex. How old he is and what he studied etc. Why am I sitting here and wondering all these things about my neighbour?!

Wednesday comes and goes quickly and it's now Thursday. My parents are arriving at 7pm so I will go pick them up from the airport and drop them at the hotel they are staying at. This is one of the reasons why I should've picked an apartment with at least two bedrooms, but I could only afford the one I'm currently living at so I can't be mad at myself.

"I'm not coming in tomorrow" Seun tells me while I pack my laptop. "Oh?" I say finally looking at him. "I'm flying to London tonight. My brother is getting married Saturday" this is news to me. "How nice. I didn't know you had a brother, one that lives in London at that" I notice I haven't stopped smiling. Everyone seems to be getting married lately. Thando just got engaged and now Seun is telling me his brother is getting married.

"Yep, he met his soon-to-be Wife while he was studying in England which I guess is why he decided to permanently reside that side" he informs me. "Love is a beautiful thing" I say. "Well, I'm just hoping I spot a fine Lad while I'm at the wedding" he laughs and I join him. "I could die for a hot British man right now!" he adds once more.

I love how comfortable Seun is about his sexuality. I remember when I first met him when I arrived at this law firm. He connected with me instantly and it wasn't long until he told me he was gay. I love how he opened up to me about such a big factor about his life which is why I opened up about some things about my life.

"Enjoy yourself and travel safely" I tell him when we both exit the office. I look at the time and realise I have two and a half hours left before I pick up my parents.

Summer is approaching and I think I need to join the gym soon or pick a yoga class. I could use some sort of activity that gets me out of the house. Tomorrow will be my seventh month here. It will be five months away till I finish my internship and get to know if I will permanently be placed or practice with another Law firm.

I must say I have come to love "Simmons and Adkins". The firm is not far from my apartment and the people here are lovely to work with. I have learnt a lot and I'm very grateful for this opportunity. I must also say that the salary is pleasing for someone who's still a legal intern.
