Chapter 25

It's the day of the Christmas party at work and I'm currently getting ready. Once my hair and makeup is done I put on my dress pairing it with black heels and a black clutch bag. Greg's walks in the bedroom and I fix his tie. "You look so beautiful, all eyes will be on you tonight" he smiles at me.

As soon as we arrive at the office, I spot Sybil wearing a Black dress "Evening, looking beautiful" I tell her. She compliments both Greg and I in return. The boardroom is being used for the party and it looks very different. Red and white drappings, A large Christmas tree and other sorts of decorations.

"Long time no see Mr Forbes" A guy says looking at Greg with a wide grin. "Hah don't Mr Forbes me, How's it going Ryan?" he chuckles giving the guy a handshake. I awkwardly watch them interact. "Oh, this is my girlfriend, Anna. She just joined the company" I smile and hold out my hand for Ryan to shake, but he kisses it instead.

"Nice meeting you Anna, I'm Ryan" I shyly smile and then I hear someone call my name. I turn around to a handsome looking Saun. "Woah, you cleaned up well" I laugh hugging him. "Hey, you look gorgeous sis" he says. He breaks away from me then greets Greg and Ryan who are watching us. They go back to conversing and so do Saun and I.

"I'll be over at the bar for some cocktail" I kiss his cheek and walk off with Saun. "Ryan is so hot, too bad I'm seeing someone!" he exclaims as soon as we sit on the chairs a few meters away from Greg and Ryan. "You know him?" I raise my brow.

"Yeah, his Family owns like three law firms and I hear he owns a portion of some shares in this company" he simply answers while drinking his Cocktail. "I had no idea" I look back at them. "I only met him tonight" I add. Greg is now talking to a woman and man. The woman keeps laughing at everything Greg says and I can't help roll my eyes.

I hear Saun laughing. "what are you laughing at?" I ask him. "You should see yourself right now" he dances with his head. "I don't know what you're talking about" I stop looking at Greg and focus my eyes back on Saun."You're obviously jealous, but it's cute. Come on let's meet some people" he grabs my hand and we stand up.

I decide to grab some sausage rolls from one of the ladies waitressing, I don't want to be drinking on a slightly empty stomach. "Hey there, slow down you're gonna choke" I hear someone say behind me. I turn to look at the man. His black hair is pushed back. He is wearing a navy suit and his cologne fills my nostrils.

I finish chewing then begin to speak, "Hi, I can't help myself they are so delicious" I laugh and wipe my hands. "I'm Damon" he pulls out his hand. "I'm An-" I'm cut of by a hand going around my waist and a kiss on the cheek. "Hey babe, I've been looking for you everywhere" Greg says looking at the guy who now seems at bit embarrassed.

I guess the guy senses Greg's need to mark "his" territory, which I'm not because I'm not some object, but you get what I'm trying to say. "You went off for cocktails and never returned. Where's Saun?" he looks around. "He went to the restroom" I say gulping my drink.

"That's enough" he takes it, before I get to finish. "Give it back" I hiss causing the woman next to us to look before she goes back to minding her business. "No, slow down. I don't want you drinking your ass off and especially not in front of these people" he says. "Hey is everything okay?" Saun comes back and looks between Greg and I.

"Yes, it's all good" Greg speaks and I look at my feet then force a fake smile. "Attention" a voice calls and we turn to look at Mr Adkins our CEO. He thanks everyone for a productive year and wishes us a good festive season before we all make a toast to a successful year ahead.

My mood has slightly dropped and Saun keeps asking if I'm okay and I tell him I have a headache. People start leaving and so does Greg and I. After saying goodbye to Saun I walk to the car with Greg behind me.

He click opens the car and I get in. "So you're not gonna say anything?" he asks, but I turn my head and look at the window. "Do you then" with that he starts the car and the whole ride home is silent.
