"Baby we have to get going" Greg calls me from downstairs. I'm pacing back and forth trying to make sure I have everything I need for this weekend. Greg's family goes to their lake house annually and Greg wanted me to go with him. I've already met his sister, but I'm yet to meet his parents and older brother.

"Did you get th..." he cuts me off by saying "Baby, relax. I got everything" he chuckles and kisseses my cheek. The lakehouse is an hour away from where we live (yes, where we live. I finally moved with Greg, but I will discuss that later) so when we reach the destination I'm not that exhausted.

There are three cars already parked when we arrive. "looks like everyone is here already" he says and turns to look at me. "are you okay?" he asks. "Yeah, of course I am" he kisses my lips before we exit the car and take our things from the trunk.

"I thought I heard a car pulling up" A woman with Short brunette hair makes her way towards us. "hi mom" Greg hugs the woman. "Oh and you must be Anna?" She smiles. "Nice to meet you Mrs Forbes" I say hugging her back. "Oh honey, please calls me Helen" she chuckles while looking into my eyes. "You are so beautiful! " she squeals and I blush at her cuteness.

Greg and I follow Helen to the house. I smile when I see Greg's sister Jude as we enter the house, because I've met her before and we hug as if we're longtime friends. "Dad and Chris are at the back" she informs us.

Greg takes our belongs to the room we'll be spending the weekend in. While I'm in the kitchen taking a sip of water a man enters and followed by another elderly one. "You must be Anna?" they say in Unison and I smile walking up to them shaking their hands. "Greg has told me so much about you" The man, who I'm guessing is Greg's Dad informs me. "Only good things only I hope" I laugh lightly.

"Oh, I was about to go call the two of you, I made hotdogs" Helen enters the kitchen with a toddler in her arms. She places the little boy down and he goes to Chris. "This is my son, Scott. Scott say hi to Anna" Chris speaks in a baby voice. "Hi Anna" the boy says cutely. Oh he has a son, where is the mother?

The evening approaches and I'm having a lovely time. Greg's family is wonderful and Greg's parents remind me of my parents in a way. While I'm in my thought I feel little hands tucking at my cardigan. "Oh hey Scott, how's it going buddy" I smile and place him on my lap.

I have come to learn that Scott is five years old. "How old are you?" he asks me. "23 years years old" I tell him. "You are old" I laugh at his response. "Are you Greg's girlfriend?" I smile when he asks me this and look at Greg who's currently catching up with his brother and Dad. "Yes, do you have a girlfriend?" I ask him. "Eww no" he laughs and I laugh with him.

After a while of answering some of Scott's questions he finally says "I wish you were my mom. You are funny" I'm taken aback by this statement. "Why, where is your mommy?" I ask him and look at his now sad face. "She died. Daddy says she died in hospital a day after I was born" I see tears in his eyes. Poor little baby

"Well you know what. Your mommy is looking down on you and she loves you" I try to comfort him. "Yes. Daddy says she is an Angel looking down on me" he says and gets off my lap. "I need a pee pee" he says and goes to the toilet. I smile at him. Scott is such a smart five year old, clearly Chris has done a good job raising him.
