After my parents settled in their hotel we decided to go have dinner at some vegan restaurant. I'm not vegan, but my parents are and they wanted to try a restaurant that was recommended by some guy they were chatting to before I picked them up from the Airport.
"You are so grown" my mom says with tears in her eyes. "Mom you literally saw me a few months ago" I smile as I look at the menu nothing looks interesting, I'll just settle for a fruit salad I think to myself.
Time goes by and I drop my parents of their hotel and promise to see them the following day after work. I really wish it was Friday today, but Friday is tomorrow so I just have to suck it up.
Now I know my parents said they are coming to Cape Town for what my Mother said is a "Baecation", but it's more like coming to spend some time with me. While I was at work they decided to do site seeing and after I got out of work we went to a spa. I definitely needed a full body massage, because it's been a hectic couple of days.
"Your Apartment looks bigger than I remember" My dad says as we enter my place. After hitting the spa I wanted to cook dinner for them and do more catching up. Mom fills me up on things back home while dad watches sports updates on the television.
I do have times where I miss my hometown and how if I was living close to home it would be easy to just go home in moments where I feel lonely. This is my life now and I am growing and part of being an adult is adapting to change and settling for moments like these where I visit my parents once in a while or they visit me once in a while.

"You need to stop, you look okay" I tell my mom as she keeps looking herself in the car mirror. Lastnight after dropping my parents at their hotel I stopped by Kevin's place to ask if it was okay to bring my Mother with me to the Women's day brunch he invited me to. "The more the merrier" he said.
"You still haven't told me how you and this Kevin guy met" I'm not looking at her, but I can sense her smile. "We are neighbours and he fixed my ceiling" I simply reply and try to focus on the GPS directions to the Church.
We finally arrive at the location and it's a beautifuly built building. A young woman walks towards us and instructs us to the section where the celebration is taking place. Of course my mom takes pictures every now and then or calls my Dad to update him on how the day is going. To be honest they are cute and I want to grow old and have a relationship like theirs.
My phone beeps notifying me that I have a text message.
Kevin: *I hope you didn't get lost* with a laughing emoj
Anna: *haha no I didn't, Thank you again for inviting me. I'm having a great time*
Kevin: *I'm glad, maybe you need to come to one of our Sunday services*
I am not very religious, but I do believe in a higher power and that there is something or someone out there looking over us. Without thinking I send a text agreeing to come to one of their Sunday services and this being the day that changes my whole life.
