Chapter 12

New Year, New Goals, New Me

What a cliché. I laugh to myself as I write down things I want to do in the new year. I promised myself that I was going to try doing new things and joining the gym is one of them. It's the 5th of January and I came back to my Apartment 3 days ago. I miss home, but holiday season is over.

I Google a few gyms close by and find one 10 minutes away. I also decided to start volunteering at an animal shelter during my free time. "Not bad Anna" I laugh as I place down my iPad and prepare dinner. There is a knock on the door and I smile at the person as soon as I open the door. "Hey Saun! " I hug him.

"Girl, do you always cook while half naked?" I missed his crazy ass.

"it's hot, are you kidding me" I shake my head.

"Anyways...  While I was outside I spotted your neighbour. Sis are you blind?" he takes the slice of pineapple from the bowl. "Hands off and no, I told you. No relationships here" I quickly run to put some shorts on because I was in a tshirt and panties.

"Well hook me up because Daddy's got it going on!" he shouts. I laugh as I make my way back to the kitchen. "Anyways, enough about Kev how was the festive season?" I chop more vegetables while he eats away the sliced fruits.

"Kev?... So you are giving him nicknames already" he smirks.

"Seriously Saun Stop it!" I laugh at his remark.

He suspiciously eyes me and laughs without saying anything more about Kevin. We settle on some Netflix show while talking about any and everything. I have been laughing all evening,yep everyone needs a Saun in their lives...

January has come and gone and I'm a now officially an Attorney. I go to court three times a week and I'm at the law firm two times a week. I go to gym in the evenings and I have sticked to a diet plan of mostly vegetables. I've also been attending Sunday services at Kevin's church and I'm happy that things between us are not awkward even after I practically rejected him.

Im opening my door when I turn to Kevin with a beautiful woman next to him. "Evening Anna" he smiles. "Oh hel.. I mean Good evening" I eye him and the woman. "Lilly, Anna. Anna, Lilly" he introduces us to eachother. I walk up to them and shake her hand. "Nice to meet you" we say in unison and she chuckles.

"Well I hope you enjoy your evening" I smile and turn around. Once I'm inside I hate the feeling I'm feeling. I shouldn't be feeling anything, actually I should be happy if he is dating, are they dating? Why hasn't he mentioned this Lilly character? I won't lie she is beautiful and Kevin is an amazing, sexy and caring guy any woman would want him. Did I just call him Sexy... Oh Gosh, it's been a long day.
