a month passed, the twins hadn't left the castle again. school was finally starting, and luke was slowly feeling nervous. "what if no one wants to be friends with us because of who we are?" he once asked leia at 12 am.

"go to sleep." was all she said. luke didn't sleep that night though.

that was a week ago, the two of them now getting ready for their first day. leia was braiding her hair in the mirror, talking about how they were going to get to school and other things. she planned everything, which was good because luke wouldn't have thought of half the things she did.

luke was waiting on his bed when she finished up, flashing him a smile. "come on, we can't be late." he got up and took a deep breath, letting it out slowly.

"okay."

-

they arrived in time, well, pretty early actually. they walked the whole way, accompanied by one of their father's workers. leia smirked as she remembered something. "hey, what if han goes to this school?"

luke's cheeks instantly heated up, his jaw dropping slightly. he hadn't forgotten the boy, who made his stomach feel as if he would vomit, but in a good way. he just didn't think about the possibility of han going to the same school. leia giggled at his reaction.

"i hadn't thought about that..." was all luke said. the rest of the walk was spent in silence, leia occasionally talking to the worker just to make his trip a bit more interesting.

they arrived ten minutes later, luke slowing down as he saw it come into few. "woah," he said, shocked. it was a big school, most likely the only high school in their town. every teenager who lived in the area would probably go there, and the kids who are still too young will go there.

leia thanked the worker, turning to luke and gripping her bag straps. "ready?"

he smiled at her, "yeah."

they walked in together, pushing open the doors to the school. it was full of students, and the sound was overwhelming. luke fought the urge to cover his ears as he followed leia through the hall.

she was holding some paper that told them where their lockers were - together, of course - and their classes. he had no idea how she got it, but she had her ways.

leia then suddenly stopped, luke having to stop quickly before he bumped into her. he didn't want more people watching them. "here! our lockers," she said with a smile.

he stood beside her as she opened hers, looking around at all the other students. his eyes then stopped on someone, "shit, leia." the girl turned around in confusion, finding where luke was staring.

"oh my god." she said. it was han solo. he was talking to his friends, but since leia had spoken a touch too loud he turned in their direction. his face dropped for a second before he smirked.

"well look who it is! how come you two are here? seems a little trashy for a prince and a princess."

"there's nowhere else to go." leia shot back. luke felt his heart pound in his chest, he didn't remember han looking this good.

luke shook his head, ignoring his thoughts. "hey, stop fighting! we've been here for ten minutes!" han looked at the boy, slightly shocked, as leia sighed.

"fine, sorry, luke." leia said softly, and put her hand on her brother's shoulder. the bell then rang, "you have english first, then science and lunch. i'll see you." she smiled, closing her locker she left open and disappearing down a hallway.

luke's eyes moved to look at han, who was still standing in front of him as everyone else left. "we have the same class first."

"oh, really?"

"don't seem so disappointed," han frowned jokingly, "i thought we were friends!"

luke chuckled lightly, "this is pretty much the only time we've actually had a conversation, i don't know how that's friends." han just smiled and started walking, leaving luke to catch up to him. he felt small next to the other boy, he was used to being the taller one with leia.

"how'd you end up here?" han suddenly asked.

"something about losing our homeschool teacher and this being the only school. i don't know how, i'd expect way more schools."

"not in this town, your highness. hardly anything apart from a few shops, houses, and your enormous castle."

luke scoffed, "it isn't that big!"

"luke, it's bigger than this school. your father's weird for wanting to live here." luke just pouted as they stopped, "this is our class." han walked in, luke following shortly after. they were pretty late, han deciding to use the excuse that he was showing luke around. it surprisingly worked.

he sat next to the boy at the back of the class, no other seats being available. shocking, he thought sarcastically.
