"you look fine, luke." leia scoffed as she straightened luke's bowtie. "very handsome, okay?" the boy nodded, letting out a shaky sigh.

homecoming would start soon, and he couldn't calm his nerves. what if han doesn't want to be with me there? "god, don't be stupid," he spoke out loud to himself, earning a confused look from leia.

luke watched his sister finished off her hair and makeup, dress flowing to the floor. she looked pretty, that was certain. leia saw him watching her and gave him a soft smile, sadness behind it. she still feels bad. he didn't want that.

"did you ever think we'd end up here?" the boy asked, walking up to leia. she stood up, giggling to her brother and throwing an arm around his waist.

"that's a silly question," she whispered the words, staring at their reflections in the mirror. "i don't know really. probably not, but i'm glad we have. you ready?" he let out a sigh.

"yeah."

han tapped his foot nervously as he waited down the stairs. he had changed in another room, greeted by anakin when he was done. luke's father gave him a small talk about treating his son the way he deserved. han promised he would never hurt luke in a million years, and that seemed to satisfy anakin.

he felt like throwing up at this point, he didn't know why he was so nervous. maybe it's because he's never gone to a school dance with someone he's truly liked, and definitely not a boy. but he would never want to change where he's ended up.

pulled from his thoughts as footsteps were heard upstairs, han flattened his suit and tie and stood up as fast as possible. "careful, jesus," anakin laughed from across the room, sitting and waiting for his kids. he was obviously nervous too.

leia came down first, holding her dress so she wouldn't step on it. the girl smiled at them both, but started speaking instantly. "this isn't as exciting when i have no one to shower me with compliments, but at least i'm not stuck with a stinky boy. no offence, han." the boy scoffed at her.

"you look beautiful, princess. seriously though." she chuckled and gave him a kiss on the cheek, moving towards her father. anakin and leia hugged, but han stopped paying attention when luke came down the stairs. "shiiit."

luke was already blushing, feeling han's eyes on him as he walked down. they stopped as they took each other's beauty in before walking closer. "you clean up nice," the boy said with a giggle, staring into his lover's eyes.

"you look beautiful, your highness."

"so do you." they shared a quick kiss, which was interrupted by leia's joke gagging. luke shot the girl a look and she instantly stopped, a serious look now on her face.

"come here, my boy." anakin said, stopping whatever fight might've started. "you enjoy your night, okay? don't let anyone ruin it for you. oh, and dance with your sister at some point, you may hate each other sometimes but you've always got to be there for each other. i love you both so much."

leia chucked with a smile, trying her best not to cry as she hugged her father again. luke grinned and joined the hug, signalling han in as well. han stood with wide eyes, "oh god, okay." he did what he was told, not wanting anakin to come and grab him. "i'm glad to be stuck with such a weird family."

"careful, i can still kick you out." anakin joked, reaching over luke to pat han on the back. "now get out of here! i want peace, and i don't want you guys missing the dance."

they all let go, luke and han interlocking their fingers right away. leia waved goodbye to her father, walking out with the two boys. they walked in silence together, reaching the end of the field as a limo was waiting for them near the gate. "holy shit! this is so cool!" the girl exclaimed in excitement, jumping in instantly when the driver opened the door.

"i'm glad she's happy," han told his boyfriend who nodded. han kissed his cheek as he sat down, luke coming in after him as he admired the limo. the driver shut the door and got in the driver's seat, starting the drive to school.
