the school actually looked quite nice for once, streamers and banners all over the front. lots of students were entering, cars pulling up all over the place. they were dropped off near the front, and they thanked the driver as they got out. "i'm gonna go find my friends. have fun you two!" leia told luke and han, walking into the school and down to thegym.

"this is it."

"it is, you ready?"

luke nodded, "yeah, i am." han smiled down at him, admiring the boy before they walked in together.

"woah.." was all that left luke's mouth as they made it to the gym. it was impressive, considering only a few students helped make it look nice. han took his boyfriend's hand, worried to somehow lose him in the sea of people. "never thought i'd be at a dance."

han gave the boy a sad smile and pulled him through the crowd, "well, wanna dance?" luke giggled, saying yes as they found a spot and started their cute yet awkward dancing. they didn't care how they looked to anyone else though.

after a few minutes of dancing, han left to go grab some punch for the boys. luke stood by himself on the dance floor, contemplating what to do. luckily leia saved him from standing there alone for too much longer, instantly pulling him in for a dance. "you look so lonely, you weirdo! where'd han go?"

"to grab us some drinks, where are your friends?" the girl shrugged, sighing softly. luke frowned at her. "not the realest of friends?"

"not really," she chuckled sadly, "i'll be okay though. i've got you two! and if that fails then... lots of castle staff. they're pretty cool." they laughed together, dancing slowly to the music.

han came up to them a minute later, handing luke a drink and apologising to leia. "dude, it's fine, i wasn't even here when you left! stop being a lil baby." she squeezed his face as she said it, earning a shove from the boy. they were basically siblings, han would protect the girl with his life.

leia was busy stealing some of luke's drink when a slow song started playing. the girl giggled loudly and gave them a look, "this'll be cute, have fun daaancing!" she took both their drinks and skipped away, still somehow looking so elegant.

"well, may i have this dance?" han asked with a chuckle.

"of course, you cute idiot." they stepped closer together, luke's hands draped around han's neck, han softly holding onto luke's waist. they started to sway slowly to the music, the taller boy staring lovingly down at his boyfriend.

"thank you," han spoke softly, but loud enough to still be heard over the music. this caught luke's attention, looking up at his boyfriend with red cheeks.

"for what?"

"for, well, everything," the boy continued, "i could've continued living a shitty, lying life if it wasn't for you." luke smiled up at him, eyes swelling with tears. "i adore you, luke skywalker."

luke sniffled, "shit, i love you, han solo." he got on his tippy toes and kissed his boyfriend, tears spilling from his eyes as he moved his hands up to han's hair. he was pulled closer, both craving the affection.(only kith affection 😻✨)

they pulled away after a few minutes. no one had paid them any attention, causing luke's smile to grow wider. it was okay, no one cared. the song came to a stop, inaudible sounds coming from whoever was speaking up on stage. they didn't care about that right now.

hi oh my god i finally finished! thank you all so much for reading i'm sorry this all took so long 🥺 i don't know if i'll write any other fanfics for a while but if i do it might not be star wars related so uhh sorry 😪 i haven't watched star wars since maybe may the 4th HAHA i went way too crazy that day.
