NTA's tomorrow, have y'all voted yet?!

It was coming into evening, the air was cool and crisp but still warm just like the sunset glow that descended on the camp.

I hummed to myself softly as I scrubbed over the horse's coat, making sure Bambi was nice and shiny for when he could be ridden again. It had been almost 4 days in my new job and it was good, I didn't see a lot of the prince... or anyone really but I had 4 beautiful, cheeky horse's to look after so I was happy.

Nobody came to give me orders or tell me off, I was kinda left to my own devices. Stephen, Ants man-servant was occasionally sent to see if I 'hadn't fucked anything up' (in his words) and a couple of knights had brought their own warhorses for a check up.

I had never been treated like this before, with respect for my craft, I had always been a slave or working beneath those born in positions in power. The prince had trusted me with all his horses despite only meeting me once, I wanted to do a really good job for him to prove I was worth believing in.

As I dipped down to get my brush wet my eyes caught sight of 4 knights and the dark haired prince in the training ring, all with wooden swords at their sides.

I recognised one of the Knights as Robbie and the another as Tristan from my first day but the rest Id only seen in passing. What I did know is they were from The Prince's 'inner circle' of most trusted knights and they all seemed highly ranked and close friends of their blue eyed commander.

I could just about make out there conversation as they messed around a bit, occasionally attacking to try and catch the others off guard but never intending to do any damage.

I lifted up from where I had been spying on them from beneath Bambi and poked my head out beside him instead to watch as the 4 knights began circling the prince.

I watched in interest as he just chuckled carelessly and motioned Stephen to hand him another practice sword.

"How is it that no matter how many time's I win, you still believe you lot have a chance." The taller man stood stoically, with two swords held casually at his sides while his eyes stayed alert to the movement of the men around him.

"Well we've gotta challenge you or else you'd get slow." Robbie sneered from behind the prince, rolling his sword in his hand and subtly nodding at the man opposite.

"It's cute you think it's a challenge." Suddenly Robbie took a swing from behind while the man he'd motion to did the same.

The prince ducked easily from the attack and forward rolled from danger to stand within the perimeter of circle made by the four men. Dirt pressed against his clothes and a bit of dust collected in his jet black hair but just as he shook it out Tristan attacked from his right.

In all fairness to the knight he managed to almost keep up with the Prince but miscalculated a blow leaving his torso wide open to be kicked with painful force. As one was taken out of the game the three others chose to attack.

I finally understood why the prince used two swords, one could act as a shield to deflect on coming attacks while the other took the lead in retaliation. Mesmerised completely, I watched in awe as four of the kingdoms best fighters combined couldn't even land a blow on one man.

Two of the unnamed soldiers were sent tumbling into one another groaning and clutching their winded sides as the Prince launched a flawless attack with barely a breath between each blow. That was gonna bruise.

Robbie was the only one who seemed able to keep up and for a moment they were perfectly matched. What the prince had in skill and speed, Robbie could match in brute force and it left the prince having to stay on the defence.
