Awww Declan was and still is a little cutie pie ❤️🥰

Yeah I'm not even sure if this chapter makes sense, I was really tired when I edited it and am now feeling like I'm forgetting to add something🙆‍♀️

I had planned on staying awake, keeping watch like Ant always did for me. But somewhere along the line that didn't work out, I got sleepy and fell asleep drooling on the taller man's shoulder.

The steady rocking of the cart had me deeply lost in dreamland but the sudden jerk and falling feeling snapped me from my slumber. It had woken Ant too and he instinctively had moved into a crouching position while gestured for me to keep low.

I did as I was told and stayed silent as he jumped from the cart on full alert.

"What's happened?" Ant's deep voice asked.

"Bloody wheels broken. Gonna have to wait for help."

I slowly slid out off the edge of the wooden carriage and wandered over to were Ant was looking out at the path that winded through some luscious green fields. I felt excitement wash through me, fields means live stock! Live stock means horseys! Yay!

Ant echoed my thoughts but as always his chain of thought was more practical.

"Fields means live stock. Live stock means a village." The Prince turned to bow his head gratefully to the man, "Thankyou for your help sir but we must be going. If we find help we will send it."

The driver shook Ant's hand and then mine before handing back the taller man's weapon. "God bless you." Ant thanked the man before gesturing me to follow him down through the fields.

"Ant?"

The Prince hummed in acknowledgement as I put my hand in his and strolled along side him as we started up a grassy hill.

"What will we do? You know... when we reach the village? We have nothing to trade..."

"Haven't thought that far through yet. We have skills I guess, both of us are young. I'm sure someone will pay us for our services."

"I hope so." I murmured, not wanting to have to move on to the next village without a good nights sleep and a full belly.

"I'm fucking starving." Ant grumbled reading my mind. My gaze flickered up his slightly dirty, bare torso which seemed a bit thinner but still toned and then to his face. "So hungry i could eat a horse."

I pouted and knocked his side. "Dont think Coco would appreciate that very much."

Ant chuckled and gave me an apologetic look, "Sorry."

"That's okay... hey look maybe at the top of this hill we can work out where we are." I started running, not letting go of Ant's hand and tugging him along behind me until he was forced to jog to keep up.

"Hey slow down Decky the views not going anywhere- Woah." We reached the top and Ant stopped in his tracks looking down at beautiful scenery and most importantly, a small village.

"Good boy Declan." He kissed my hair, making me blush and led the way down the steep grassy hill towards the gathering of thatched houses.

I squinted as we got closer and my eyes widened at the blinding reflection of the sun on Armour. Ant caught it too and before I could even utter a warning I was tugged behind a farmer's modest house, hidden out of view.

"Who are they?" I whispered as Ant peaked around the side. I couldn't see, I could hear, shouting and screams as the soldiers tormented the locals, stealing their only supplies set aside for the winter and probably what little coin they had.
