I have noooo idea if this flows well, I wrote it while writing spotlights and it took me ages to edit 🙃 now that Declan is in the castle I have so many different experiences I want him to have but I don't want anything to get tedious... anyway I'm rambling... enjoy the story! 😁👉👈
Nothing made a lot of sense when woke up, my bed was soft and comfy but I couldn't remember falling asleep. I felt rested but I couldn't remember being tired.
My eyes flickered opened but slammed shut as soon as the light assaulted their sensitive iris's. I flopped over into the comfortable sheets with a pouty whimper and buried my head in the pillow, shying into the warmth that my expensive smelling surroundings offered me.
My entire body relaxed as a deep breath released from my lungs, creating a refreshing ache as my chest stretched out any stiffness. A small drowsy smile tugged at my lips before I spread out my limbs like a starfish, taking up the entire double bed.
My tummy rumbled and I frowned, my nose sniffing the air for some food I could track down.
I yawned, my stomach ruling my body as I sat up to swing my legs over the bed and rub my eyes sleepily. With half closed eyes and barely enough consciousness to string a coherent thought together, I plopped my bare feet onto the floor and adjusted the very long shirt I was wearing so it was tugged towards my knees.
My tired mind didn't really know where I was going, I felt like I was in a weird dream as I floated through the room and stepped through the threshold of an open door way.
I wasn't sure where I was, but my whole body gravitated towards the familiar warm figure as soon as I saw him.
I hummed as I waddled forward into Ant's arms and slotted against his strong body. I closed my droopy eyes tucked my head beneath his masculine scented chin, rubbing my cheek against his open shirt while the taller man stood still, his arms not wrapping around me the way I yearned and whined for them to.
I yawned sleepily and rubbed my nose into his peck, silently asking for attention cause I was all tired.
I never got the cuddles I was after when the taller man's voice drifted gently through my ears, "Wake up Decs, you're still sleeping."
I blinked my eyes open, I knew I definitely wasn't sleeping. 'Cause I'd been aware of getting out of bed and finding Anth. I realised that perhaps I'd been half asleep, it became clear how much I'd missed as I slowly rubbed at my sleepy-dust filled eyes with two scrunched up hands and blinked about the room to settle on four curious faces stood up around a rectangular table watching us.
My green gaze flickered through the awkward silence while Ant gently put some distance between us.
"Declan." The dark haired Prince started, "I'd like you to meet your Royal Council."
I coughed and stood up a little straighter in my oversized shirt, shuffling nervously from one bare foot to the other.
Right, I thought quickly, a Donnelly. Declan Donnelly. I was a Prince, just like Ant... I had princely duties. I didn't know who these people were apart from Anne, the Queen, my Mam, who was stood at the end of the table.
Anthony moved past me and slowly pulled out the chair at the opposite to Anne. He held his hand out and gestured for me to sit.
I looked up at him with wide eyes, he couldn't expect me to sit with these men? They all looked really important and rich and smart and I simply didn't belong in a meeting with them. I belonged in the stables or at Ant's feet, I hadn't earned a place to sit and that sentiment shone through my eyes as I stared up at Anthony.
