S1 E45: Top Stars Cup!

"It's almost time for the Top Stars Cup in Pearl Star Academy!" the female host of AKTV announced.

"That's right," said the male host. "In case you've never heard of the Top Stars Cup, it's the competition in which the high school division compete to be the top idol of the school."

"The current Top Star of Pearl Star Academy is Akizora Ayame," the female host stated. "However, due to her current health condition, it is likely that she may not retain her position as Top Star or even the number one idol in Japan. But who knows?"

"We'll find out on that day," the male host responded.

I sighed in my hospital bed. It's been a long time since I've done anything related to Aikatsu.

It's not fun being confined in this room. Though I occasionally take strolls around the hallways from time to time.

But still...

I turned off the television. Perhaps I should go back to sleep.

When will I ever get out of this?

Why does my health have to interfere with my dream?

Why can't I just live a normal life?

I'm terrible for a top idol, aren't I?

I can't perform as often, and all my fans will end up being disappointed.

Why must this happen to me?

My arms began shaking involuntarily. My legs couldn't stop twitching.

No, not again!

The nurse walked into the room. "Akizora, it's time for — Akizora!"

I couldn't exactly remember what happened. I think there was a doctor or two or something.

"She's experiencing seizures again," I heard someone say before everything blacked out.

I don't understand.

Beeping noises.

A mask.

I had a seizure again...

"However, due to her current health condition, it is likely that she may not retain her position as Top Star or even the number one idol in Japan."

That hurts to hear.

Even though I figured out a long time ago.

At least let me get out once again...

  I need to be able to compete. Even if I lose.

  My phone was ringing. Mother was calling me.

  "Hi," I spoke.

  "Ayame, you're awake!" Mother said in relief. "I heard that you had another seizure, so I'm heading to the hospital as soon as I can."

  "Thanks..." I sighed.

  We talked for a few more minutes. The nurse came into the room when we were done.

  "You're awake, Akizora," she stated. "Are you feeling better?"

  I nodded. "Hopefully. I'm hoping to compete in the Top Stars Cup. But my health won't allow it."

  The nurse soaked a towel in water before wiping it on me. "That really depends on your health."
