Home Part Two

Alex and his wife trail to the cabin and stan there outside as his wife asks.

"Why aren't we going to the estate?"

"no use it's burning. we would just be walking into danger. everyone important will be here." Alex knocks and on the door and it opens. he shifts eyeing his sister who stares back at him and the girl behind Alex comments.

"well, that's great..."

Alex shifts eyeing his sister and turns back to his wife as his sister moves aside letting them in. Sally motions in and looks down at the floor not talking as she slowly shuts the door as Alex's wife enters the room. Alex shifts between the two girls and sally nods to her brother as she whispers.

"I'm glad your safe."

"really?" Alex's wife comments and Alex motions to her.

"please." His wife crosses her arms and Alex motions to a separate room.

"why don't you get some rest."

she walks off to another room and Alex hears the door slam as Sally asks.

"regretting it yet?"

"no, I'm actually happy."

"Really?" sally crosses her arms and Alex turns his head.

"don't give me that face."

A knock on the door sounds and Alex takes a deep breath going to it and opening it wide. He eyes konnor standing there and eyes the man over asking.

"What happened to you?"

"bad stuff. where is Mason?"

Konnor shifts and closes the door behind him asking.

"where is he?"

"not here." sally sighs and sits down in a chair worrying about mason and Alex turns his head./

"don't worry mason is tough, a survivor."

"give him 2 days then we leave. we shouldn't stay in one spot too long"

Alex nods agreeing and hears a voice.

"Alex!" He closes his eyes and sally turns her head.

"regretting it yet?" Alex opens his eyes and shakes his head.

"no.." he licks his lips and walks into the dorm eyeing his wife laying on her back and he turns his head as she asks.

"like what you see?" she turns and he shakes his head.

"you're really thinking about that?" she turns her head and stares down Alex.

"you're worried about mason?"

"worrying makes you dumb causes you to make mistakes..." she turns her head and nods her head asking.

"didn't mason teach you that?"

he stares the girl down and shrugs his shoulders as he comments.

"must have forgotten."

"It is okay to care about him, I care, we all care. we see the side of him they don't."

Alex sits at the end of the bed and his wife reaches out gripping his hand.

"you had me worried when you gave me to the den like that. I almost forgot your sense of humor..."

he turns his head and glances her over as he lies.

"I wouldn't have let them hurt you."

"don't lie Alex..." she rolls her eyes back and motions to him.

"mason raised us, all the same, to be heartless, to survive."

she grips his hand and nods to him.

"it got you what you wanted." Alex stares forward and his wife asks.

"Why did you step in front of the knife like that?" 

"what do you mean?"

"Alex..." she stares him over and he turns his head staring back as she whispers.

"Surviving is all that  matters...."

Konnor knocks on the door and Alex looks up as konnor motions to him.

"I need to talk to you." Alex moves towards Konnor and konnor motions off into another room away from Alex's wife as Konnor whispers.

"the commonwealth took sam."

"took him?" Alex lifts his head and konnor nods his head as he whispers.

"seems mason pissed off the wrong people that means everyone close to him is in danger..." Alex thinks over what Konnor said and nods his head agreeing.

"then we shouldn't stick around we should keep moving?"

"But where?"

Alex leans against the wall and hears his sister.

"there's always the community."

"no-"

"Alex..." Sally stares him down and Alex shakes his head.

"no we need somewhere else somewhere they won't expect mason's people to be."

"Alexandria?" Sally says unsure f her words and Alex's eyes shift as Konnor asks.

"rick's group?"

"more like Negan's...."

"but he knows us.." Sally says sounding unsure and Alex nods agreeing.

"exactly sally..." Alex grins and sally turns her head as she asks.

"you want to go to Negan?"

"makes the best sense..." Alex nods his head and konnor comments.

"I don't know about this-"

"not you..." Alex shifts his eyes and stares down konnor as he motions to the door.

"you and beck should go to the community. they already know your face they don't know ours we can get inside." 

"Alex?" Sally turns her head and Alex grins to himself as he nods his head.

"yeah inside the commonwealth right inside it. they trust Alexandria..." 

"yeah, but mason said we should never do that kind of work."

"Mason isn't here." Alex shifts his eyes to konnor and back to his sister. 

"don't tell me your scared sal?"

"I'm not scared of anything it's just we made a  promise to Miya."

Alex nods his head understanding and Konnor asks.

"What kind of promise?"

"that we would never put ourselves in  danger if we didn't need to-"

"well, we need to. someone needs to know what she is planning and if sam's okay."

"what if he's not?"

"then mason needs to know."
