Long Chapter Warning

A few weeks have passed, everything was the same. Same routine, same people passing through the school halls, Katy by my side, everything stayed the same. Except, every passing day, the butterflies in my stomach felt more and more present and now here we are. Here I am.

If someone told me that I would wake up so nervous today that I felt nauseous, I would believe them, and that's exactly what happened this morning. The day hasn't even started yet and I'm already shaking. Today is going to be a good day, well, at least I hope so.

I'm a little sad though; I don't know if Brandon will be coming to my graduation. He said that him and his parents will try to make it, including his family that live here. I talked to one of Brandon's cousins the other day and he made it seem like my graduation was equivalent to me getting married, getting into Harvard, and becoming a doctor at the, exaggerated, age of 23. I love my second family.

Anyways, after I showered, brushed my teeth, managed my hair, and dressed in one of my normal styles; black skinny jeans, a dark grey turtleneck and black shoes.

I make my way downstairs, looking down at my phone as I scroll through instagram, I glanced up to makes sure I wasn't about to miss a step, learned that the hard way. I sighed and as I made it to the last step, I screamed loudly.

Dad jumped in front of me and yelled a classic 'Boo!', successfully, making me jump. I groaned and hit him on his arm while he was having the laugh of his life,

"Not funny!" I huffed as I started walking passed him, not voicing out that I'm gonna give him the silent treatment.

I walked in the kitchen and saw Mom trying to stop herself from laughing, "H-Hey, sweetheart," she greeted as a slight chuckle escaped her mouth, "How did you sleep?"

I narrowed my eyes at her and leaned over the kitchen island, wondering what those two were planning, "It was alright..." I responded not taking my eyes off of her until she looked behind me and a wide grin appeared on her face.

I turned around confused but my eyes widened once they fixed on a certain something and I gasped in excitement. Dad was behind me holding a set of keys that could only belong to a car.

Yes! Finally! My own car!

I ran to Dad and engulfed him in a hug, "Thank you, so much!" I let go of Dad and went over to mom and gave her just as big of a hug.

She let me go and she had tears in her eyes, "You're growing up so fast, Jamie." She placed her hand on my cheek and I couldn't help but let out a few tears as well, "We love you so much and you'll always be our baby." She sniffled as her smile grew. Mom wiped her tears away and giggled, "Okay, let's go see your new car."

I nodded and I was lead out of the house, Dad's hands over my eyes as he guided me to, what I know automatically is, the driveway. I had a toothy grin spread across my face as I felt the warm sun shine down on me.

"Okay, one, two, three!" Dad counted as he lifted his hands from my face.

I gasped when I saw the absolute beaut of a car in front of me. It was a black 2016 Toyota Camry and it looked...expensive,

"How much was this...?" I turned back to them and smiled nervously. They looked at each other and then back at me, "How much was it...?" I asked again. I really don't like big gestures, especially expensive ones, but I am really grateful for this.

"We had a little help with the payment and it wasn't our original idea to get you a car." Mom confessed.

"Ah." I said simply, already know who it was; B might be a hopeless romantic but he sure knows how to surprise someone.
