Sophie glanced down at her plate, not sure if the food was poisoned or not. It looked really good... but she wasn't going to fall into the trap.
Even though she was starving, she pushed the mallow melt and custard bursts away, refusing to eat for the third time in a row.
"Really? Not even a little bite?" said Charlotte, making Sophie even hungrier. Her mouth started watering at sigh of her favourite desserts.
"No. I'm not stupid,"replied Sophie, shaking her head."
Charlotte shrugged, and popped a custard burst in her mouth. "Whatever. Your loss, I suppose."
Ugh. If she went on like this, Sophie would en up starving to death. I should just eat. But... What if it's poisoned?
Charlotte finished the custard bursts, smirked when she saw Sophie's face.
"It's not poisoned. Seriously."
"I'm not going to eat. You can bring any food in the world, and I still won't give in." Sophie crosses her arms.
"Huh. I wonder what your friends would do."
Sophie looked at her shoes. Charlotte had been constantly reminding her of her friends. Sophie missed them. A lot. Especially Fitz and... Keefe.
She sighed. Her she was, kidnapped, and she was still thinking about boys.
Charlotte copied her sigh, exaggerating it. "Aw, you miss your slaves!"
"Their my friends, not slaves!"snapped Sophie.
"Says the girl who influences them to help her in all of her deadly situations."
She had a point.
"Maybe your "friends" could come and join you...?"
"Leave them alone! This is between you and me!"
"I mean... how could you stop me? You'll be dead in a few weeks if you don't start eating," said Charlotte. She picked up the plate of finished deserts, leaving Sophie alone in her room.
If she was being honest, Charlotte was treating her well, compared to the Neverseen. The room was small, but clean and neat. Sophie was allowed to walk around the building, and Charlotte came everyday to talk to her.
Sophie would prefer if that little chat wasn't part of her daily schedule.
Sophie opened her door, and started walking around, searching for a room that she hadn't found yet.
Over that past two days, Sophie has spent all her time wandering around, looking for a way out. Charlotte said that there was a barrier around the property, so Sophie figured that there was a way to turn it off.
She still looking for that solution. And would probably never find it.
After a long day of wandering around the building and not finding anything new, Sophie returned to her room. She sat down on her bed, about to shut the lights and go to sleep.
Sophie?
She gasped. It...No. It was impossible.
Sophie can you hear me?
How was he transmitting?
Fitz?
Sophie tried to transmit back to her cognate, but only felt the same pain as before when she tried to use her abilities. She rubbed her temples.
If you can hear me... please tell me where you are. Biana's hurt. She's won't wake up. Please Sophie. Please answer.
Sophie felt her eyes fill with tears. Biana was hurt?!
Fitz continued. I wish you could hear me.
Sophie buried her face in her hands. It killed her knowing that her friends were out there, getting hurt, while she was here, being well treated, and in almost no danger at all.
Sophie...
She could hear how sad he was. Sophie wished that she was there to comfort him... and Keefe.
Sophie felt a wave of emotions. He was probably still blaming himself. She knew Keefe. She really missed him and stupid jokes and pranks...
She really missed Keefe. More than she should.
Ugh, what are you saying?! Of course you miss him, he's your friend!
Sophie wasn't sure anymore.
She was confused. Confused about Charlotte, confused about the was she was being treated, confused about why she couldn't use her abilities and...Confused about Keefe.
She was the moonlark. She could do anything. That's what she was always told.
Guess they were all lying.
She felt like curling up into a tiny ball and stay there forever. Either way, according to Charlotte, she wouldn't ever get out of this place anyways. So what would it matter if she tried?
I wish I could talk to you, transmitted Fitz. In person. You would be able to cheer me up.
Sophie knew that she would only complicate things. She was so angry at herself. She should have been more careful.
I know you can't hear me, but I'm just going to imagine that I'm talking to you.
Sophie smiled. It was so cute. She wanted to hug him right now. He probably felt alone. Usually they talked to each other when they felt down or had problems.
She was closer to him than anyone else.
But then again... there's Keefe...
SOPHIE ELISABETH FOSTER! WHEN WILL YOU STOP. THINKING. ABOUT.CUTE. BOYS!
It was probably the tenth time that she had mentally scolded herself that day. To be honest, she was thinking about Keefe and Fitz 24/7. AND IT WAS NOT OKAY!
She sighed. The second that she had meet those two, they became her mind's first priority.
I'm going to check on Biana. Bye Sophie. After that, he stopped transmitting.
Great. Now she was alone.
Again. And very bored.
Just when she was about to close her eyes, someone knocked on the door.
"Sophie?"
