Lizbeth's POV
Nikoli and I walked into the school side by side, our hands brushing together occasionally. We walked to the front desk, and the lady there (Labeled Miss Brown by the plaque) asked what we wanted. I flashed my badge. "I'd like to speak with your student Malia Hale, if you will." She nodded and started typing on the computer in front of her. "Is there a problem?" Nikoli asked. "No, not at all sir. Would you like to take a seat in the sitting room while I check what class she is in currently?""Sure." I replied for him, taking his hand and pulling him into the room while he threw suspicious looks at the attendant. "Shh." I said, taking a seat. "She's suspicious." He remarked. I rolled my eyes. "She's not. You've just been locked in a coffin for 900 years. You wouldn't know, would you?"
"I guess." He gave hesitantly. I smiled and chuckled quietly. "What? " Nikolai asked defensively. "Nothing, nothing."
"That's what I thought." He said smugly. I rolled my eyes. Before he could answer, the attendant popped her head in. "If you would like to follow me, I can show you where she is." I nodded and stood, Nikoli doing the same. We followed her down a maze of hallways, too-bright posters decorating the walls showing off pictures of clubs. I snorted. "Something funny?" He asked quietly, intertwining our fingers. "No. Its just the posters... Didn't have them back in my day, and obviously not in yours. It seems weird for me to go to a club." He shrugged, squeezing my hand. "I guess. Anyone would be lucky to have you in their club." I laughed once again. "We're here." She announced, opening the door. She asked if she could borrow Malia, and there she was. Malia didn't exclude the same kind of cold indifference that her cousin did, but rather a kind of- you mess with me and I will fuck you up. They didn't hold much physical resemblance, but we had yet to find out if they were the same inside. "What's up?" She asked, casting a 'look' in Nikoli and I's direction. I flashed my badge at her. "Police? I haven't done anything."
"MI6, actually. My partner and I were wondering if you could tell us anything about your farther - or your cousin." She eyed us. "Peter and Derek? Why?"
"Could we chat- alone?" I asked, looking to the attendant. "Oh, yes- of course." She flushed and smoothened down her skirt before shuffling away. "Well?" Malia demanded. "Your cousin," Nikoli said, his voice smooth as velvet, "Is under... questioning from the MI6. We need intelligence on him and his family. I need to know your fathers whereabouts." Malia snorted. "Peter does what he wants, when he wants. I don't know where he is when- and I would applaud the person who does."
"So you have... No idea where he might be?" She shook her head. "And, incase you haven't noticed, I am part of the Hale family. I wouldn't rat them out- or my friends. Ever. So I'm sorry, but coming here to me was a waste of your time." She turned, but Nikoli caught her arm. "Wait. You said that you wouldn't rat them out, which means they're doing something you could rat them out for. Correct?"
"As if I would tell you. " She sneered. Her cousins spirit, then. "Did you know," I said dryly, "Purposely withholding evidence from the law that could help bring someone to justice is a felony."
"Really?" She challenges. "Really." I agree. "I won't tell you anything."
"What about Stiles?"
"What?" She asked, shocked. "What if we took Stiles in for questioning? Granted, the conditions would be far less... Pleasant than this." She growled, attempting to rip her arm free from Nikoli's hold. All that happened was he raised an amused eyebrow. "Take Stiles and I will kill you all."
"My, my, " I simpered. "Threatening an MI6 agent? Hardly playing by the rules, Malia." Nikoli's face stretched into a evil smile. "Might have to take you in for that one. That is, unless... There's something we're looking for- something important to our little investigation. If you can tell me where it is, I might just let you go."
"Blackmail!" She accuses. "Negotiation." I disagree. "Fine! What is it?"
"A little something called the Black Diamond."
"I'm not telling you anything about that." She declares, shaking her head vigorously. I incline my head to Nikoli, who begins to take her away. 'Wait! My dad might have said something about it... "
