"I wouldn't say you didn't because you sure were different yesterday. " You stayed the remain information to yourself. He will need to be good with you if he wants to know the incident.
"I did what? " Jungkook stops eating and with terrified eyes watches you eat happily.
"It's still morning and you need to rest more jungkook. I think it's better to let the past be in past. " Jungkook couldn't seat comfortably when he sees your little smirk and your small chuckle. Did you really think he can't see it?
His eyesight is perfectly fine and his ears are not clogged with hair just yet so he can see and hear you very clearly.
"Y/nㅡ" Jungkook calls you again, "I cook well today right? " You suddenly ask for compliment and it caught him off guard. He blinks awkwardly before looking down to his plate.
"I haven't taste it yet. " You laugh at his innocent answer. He looks so confused like a lost child when he thinks of how to compliment your food.
"Come on, eat it now. What are you waiting for? " You grab his spoon and force him to grab it.
"I really did good and my cooking skills are getting better. "
You continue to ensure him that you will not give him constipation again. It was a one-time thing but he makes sure to leave the cooking part in his hand only. Never you ever again.
Jungkook looks worried but for the sake of your hard work and his care for you, he licks his lips nervously before slurping the soup.
You wait for him to give some reaction and your eyebrow raises with anticipation when he nods his head multiple times. "It's surprisingly edible."
Your shoulders drop with disappointment. You shouldn't raise your hope for something more coming from your best friend.
Jungkook jumps in surprise when you angrily slam your spoon on the table. He looks up at your annoyed face and smiles when he realises you've eaten his teasing bait.
"Don't eat. I change my mind, this is for my own hangover." You stand up and stretch your arms to his full bowl. Jungkook laughs loud when you wince painfully when the burning bowl burns your finger.
"Shoot." You quickly bring them back and you examine your fingertip. They look fine, there's no redness or any sign of burn. Plus, it's maybe a simple god's reply for your bad motives yesterday.
Jungkook didn't help at all since he's busy trying to breathe while laughing like a mad clown. "Shut up. " You said with gritted teeth only to pour more flowers into the clown clothes.
You sit back down, using your mouth to mouthed curse words for him. Like a genuine gift of hatred and annoyance at him. You wake up early to help him reduce his hangover and all he said was your food is edible?
Jungkook calms down but still have small cut laughs between him staring down at your food before pushing his gaze up to your sulking face.
Your fingers grip the knife, why is the knife there? You don't even know but it sure feels nice to stab him. Just kidding. But still, he's really annoying and he is still laughing when it's not even funny.
Jungkook nervously gulps his saliva when he sees where your hand lays and it's on top of a very dangerous thing.
"I'm just kidding y/n. It's really good and the amount of salt, red pepper and everything else are perfect. Did you take cooking classes with Gordon Ramsay since this delicious dine here should be named perfection. "
You look up to his eyes and gives a half heart smile, "Well done and nice try handsome. You should've told me all those sweet words before criticizing me." Jungkook panicky grabs your hand, stopping you from standing up again.
Your heart stops, his warmth makes your body falls cold and want more of him close to you. His one touch brings tingles from the top of your head until the bottom of your toes.
Jungkook's butterflies, being trapped in its cage inside his body have successfully open its lock and flies around freely. You give him butterflies even when he's making the first move.
"W-what do you want? " You just stutter, it's very rare to caught you off guard but if a person is jeon jungkook than it's an everyday surprising day for you.
"I really appreciate your care for me and thank you for coming back. " Serious. The tension in the air turns from being two teasing friends into a really serious conversation again.
You slowly sit down, holding his hand back and stare to Jungkook's sadden eyes. "I shouldn't leave you yesterday. I shouldn't even talk with her yesterday. If onlyㅡ"
"Do you want to know a secret? " Jungkook looks confused at your question. Suddenly a confession?
"Secret? " He asks. You snicker a pathetic laugh to yourself before using your free hand to tug back your hair.
"Yes, a secret I should've told you last night. " You finally take this moment to stop hearing your brain's decisions and let your heart tells you what's the right thing to do.
And you hope your heart knows what she's doing because your friendship's relationship is on the line.
"What is it?" Suddenly he changes his mood into a concern friend. He hates seeing your eyes turns sad. It looks so dark and filled with only sadness.
He only wants you to feel joy but sometimes he feels like he's the reason on why you're standing away from joy and closer to sadness.
"I didn'tㅡ" You hesitate to talk. You don't know how he will take this confession but it's not that bad to take in, right?
You can't think properly and Jungkook's thumb circling your skin, thinking that he's helping you calm down is bullshit. Your heart is beating like crazy and the adrenaline rush inside are making it harder for you to stop pulling him into you.
Taking a big deep breath, you open your eyes again meeting his cute concern eyes. "I didn't want you to go yesterday. I wanted to stop you. I wanted you to be here with me last night. I really hope you would ignore her once she messages you and I really hope I had the courage to stop everything that happen yesterday. "
You stayed your gaze at him and Jungkook's mouth opens, feeling overwhelmed with your confession. His eyes confuse you; you can't pick one emotion to express his look right now. He looks inexpressible. You can't figure him out.
After a long silence, you couldn't sit comfortably when jungkook opens his mouth for his own answer.
You felt like crying for something you regret doing and not doing at the same time. You want to run away but until when will you hide your feelings. It's clear that he likes you and you like him.
Even when you are afraid with all the outcomes that will come, but you still want the truth to be told.
Your lips dried, your face turns pale when he gaze long on your face.
"Why didn't you stop me? "
