Part 32 : Our Twenty Minutes Promise

You glance again to haneul and see her already taking her leave silently. Neither both of you care about her since jungkook is busy drinking his rum again besides you while having a new conversation, you glance at her by time to time and it seems she realize where she should really  stands at.

"Here is your drink, beautiful." Jungkook passes you the drink into your hand again, "Thank you, handsome." You laugh at his new nickname for you and you didn't know this nickname will stay longer than the other ones.

"So, who won the dance?" Jungkook turns around and let himself leans his back by the counter. His eyes never once stop mesmerizing your cute face, both of you are still growing but you are already perfect in his eyes.

"I don't really know cause everything stops when jimin and namjoon sat on a fish bowl." Jungkook looks worried for them. You look weirdly when jungkook tries to peek at the living room for them? Well that's what you thought he was thinking.

"Did the fish die?"

"Are you serious?" You laugh since he thinks the fish's live is more important than his friend's.

Namjoon and jimin are not hurt at all instead they quickly get up and starts jumping on another nearby table since they are still high with alcohol. It's only been 2 hours but it's understandable if everyone around you are drinking illegally too.

"Of course, I am. The fish is fine right?" Jungkook asks even more eagerly towards you and you couldn't stop laughing at his serious face. "Damn, you're so drunk jungkook." You pat jungkook's flush cheeks before looking down to your cup.

"Even if I'm sober. I will ask the same thing, beautiful." Jungkook grabs your free fingers before shaking them playfully with his silly smile. "The fish is fine. In fact, there's no fish in there at all." You answered him honestly and it made him sigh in relief.

You shake your head at his drama and drinks your coke, you only took one gulp but the drink tasted different. Your eyebrow scrunch at the taste.

You look up to jungkook's unbothered face, maybe you're just overthinking it? So, you take another sip than another mouth full of it but the taste stayed the same. Still weird.

Jungkook notice your frown face, "What's wrong?" You only reply him with a disgust face, "What's in here? Is this really coke?" You ask him. Jungkook's face copies your frown face too and looks back to the empty can.

"It does say coca cola on here. Why? Is there something wrong with it?" Jungkook grabs the cup and taste the coke. Your eyes curiously search for any disgust in his face but the only face he made was like he already knows what thing is in there.

"It's disgusting right?" You ask him and your eyes follow him throwing the coke down the sink and suddenly shove a bottle of water into your small mouth. "Waitㅡ" Your hands moves by itself and tries to stop him from choking you.

After jungkook notice you already take four gulps on the water, he slowly pulls down the water bottle. You frustratedly slaps his hands away.

What the hell does he think he's doing? Even if he wants to be the hero today but he could just tell you nicely to drink it and not shove one plastic water bottle on your face.

Your eyes glare his innocent face, "You almost killed me!" Jungkook covers himself from your hits and quickly run to the other side of the counter. "It was completely out of self-defense?" You scoff at his defending talk.

You push your longs bangs from your sight before nodding your head, "Fine then, but at least tell me what's in that drink? I already know that is not coke at all so don't try and give me any bullshit."

"You should stop cursing in front of me, y/n." You only give him a half-hearted smile before a small laugh comes out with your smile too. "I'll try." Jungkook took a bravery task and walks to your side again.

"Actually, I don't have the right answer for the drink but it tastes like those pills? I don't know but it does have the same affect with getting high if you drink it."

"I just took two gulps from it." You say softly.

"Two is small so I don't think you would be dizzy from that, right?" Jungkook tries to find any yes face from you and after three second pause, you quickly nods your head to him.

Sometimes jungkook feels afraid with his small friend here but every time he looks into her eyes again, he just couldn't stop remembering only the good times together. The bad ones... Talking about the bad memories.

"The stalker dude..." Jungkook mutter softly, he doesn't want this night to be a hell for you considering it's been awhile since you had a good day without thinking about him but even if he hates to bring this up. He still needs to ask you about 'him'.

"Hmm?" You ask him to repeat again. Jungkook looks into your pure eyes. He just couldn't handle it; he just can't stop being furious about the man behind the dark shadows. Why did he had to pick her out of all people? Why did he had to make her live even harder than her life is right now?

"About jaesoo..." Your body quickly falls cold with hearing his name only.

You immediately shut jungkook's mouth and with scared eyes you look around the empty kitchen.

"What are you doing? Why are you calling his name out loud? Do you really want him to catch me?!" Your anger whispers could only be heard by his ears only.

Jungkook hates this look of yours. Looking so vulnerable and looking like there's no place for you to hide anymore. You look like you would be in jaesoo's hands if you don't keep your guards up at all time.

Jungkook raise his hands to hold yours on his mouth, "I'm here for you, remember? He could never catch you when I'm here protecting you." Jungkook looks sincere with his words.

You smirk at his confidence, with a small breathy voice. You close your mouth next to his ear, "Can you really? Can you really be by my side when he's here?"

"Of course. I promise."

You glance to the wall clock, "11:40." Jungkook looks back to the clock with you too but he couldn't understand why you are telling him the time.

"Twenty minutes before new year's party really starts..." Jungkook's heart beats faster when your fingers slowly crawl upwards from his stomach up until his chest.

Looking up with a smile towards him, "You promised to keep me save. Keep the promise lock in your heart tightly and always remember your own words, okay?"
