Calum's POV

A couple of days later, Ashley and I were getting ready to go back to her place to get her stuff. I didn't want her to go, because I knew she was still in a lot of pain and might not be able to walk for long, but she is stubborn. So stubborn. And i was not going to win, so I gave in.

"Can I borrow a sweater or something. It's cold out" she asked me, and I nodded, grabbing a black hoodie from my closet and handing it to her. She slipped it on and it came to near the tops of her thighs. So I also grabbed a pair of my sweatpants and grace them to her. She pulled them on and had to tighten them all the way for them to even start to fit her.

"Let's go" she said, walking out of the door. I followed behind her, and pretty soon we were driving back to her house.

Ashley's POV

I can't believe I was never going to see my house again. I mean, don't get me wrong. I hate jake. I hate him with every bone in my body and I can now safely say I never want to see him again. But I would miss our house. And the way our neighbour would bring us brownies every Sunday. And how we would laugh together at how our other neighbour had a party literally every weekend.

After a couple of minutes, we pulled up the the house. Thankfully his car wasn't in the driveway, so we knew it was safe to go.

Caleb jumped out from his side and ran around to mine, opening my door and helping me out. My ribs and wrist still hurt, even after multiple painkillers.

We walked in and saw the house was a tip. There was everything everywhere. It looked like a pigsty.

I went straight upstairs, but needed calebs hell walking up the actual stairs.

"Do you know where suitcases are?" He asked, letting go of me to sit on the bed.

"Closet door, two doors down on the right from here" I told him and he nodded, walking out of the room. I looked around. I would never be in this room again. I would never look out of the window and see the sun rising again. I would never dance around this room like my life depended on it again. But I reminded myself it was for the best. Jake was toxic, and I'm an idiot for only realising this now.

Caleb walked back in with the four biggest suitcases we owned. He placed them all on the end and opened them up.

I got up and walked into the closet, grabbing handfuls of clothes and putting them in the suitcases. He soon took over, so I started packing up my jewellery and other things I wanted like my hairbrush and makeup and things like that.

It took us three hours to pack everything up. And I mean EVERYTHING. After we'll have left it will be as if I had never been here at all.

Caleb was carrying the suitcases out and into the car as I took one last walk around the house. I would miss it, I really would, but it was for the best.

"Ready to go?" He called from the bottom of the stairs. I took one last look around the house , and brushed my fingertips along the wallpaper before sighing.

"Ready as I'll ever be"
