Chapter 13
Cameron's POV.
"Are you sure you don't want me to go? Because I can go ahead and buy a ticket and I'll be on the next flight to Chicago." Jay said to me. We were at the airport.
"I'm sure, Jay. I'll be alright." I gave him a small smile and he nodded. He took me into his arms and hugged me tight.
"I'm going to miss you, Cam. Please be careful. Call me if you need me and I'll be there in a heartbeat." He whispered in my ear.
"I'll miss you too." I pulled away from the hug and placed his lips onto mine.
"Gate 4971 to Chicago, Illinois will be leaving soon" the voice in the speakers made me pull away from the kiss. I hugged him one last time before I started to walk away
"I love you, Cameron!" Jay said.
I turned around and smiled at him. "I love you too."

The taxi pulled up to my childhood home. I paid the driver and got out. I slowly walked towards the door, but stopped to take a good look at the house.
It still looked the same after years. I can see that mom had planted flowers in the front yard. My balcony still had the chairs and flowers on it. Mom must've planted new flowers for me too, because they were nearly dead when I left. The vine I always climbed up to get onto my balcony from when I would sneak out was still there.
I took a deep breath and walked to the front door. I rang the doorbell twice and waited for someone to open the door.
"Cameron!" My mother squealed when she opened the door. I smiled and she took me in her arms.
"I've missed you so much, mom." I pulled away and she opened the door wider so I can come in.
"CAMMEROOONNNNNN!!!!!" My idiodic brother screamed.
"ADAM!" We ran towards each other and I jumped in his arms. He spun me around and kissed my cheek multiple times. When he put me down I frantically wiped his saliva off my cheek
"Gross, Adam." I laughed and hugged him properly.
"You look so different." He said when he pulled away. He did too. He was much taller and he isn't that scrawny guy anymore. His hair is shorter and he doesn't look like a complete douchebag anymore. I've been gone for 3 years and he's changed so much.
I looked at mom, "where's dad?" I asked.
"He went to the store. He should be back anytime now. In the mean time, why don't you go up to your room and unpack." I nodded and started to walk up the stairs. I noticed that Adam was following me. I walked into my room and looked around. Everything was left the same. My bed was neatly made. Posters of bands filled my walls. Pictures of me and friends covered the edges of my mirrors. My walls were still painted purple. My keyboard still sat in the corner of my room. I sat on my bed and took everything in.
"Mom would always come in here and sit where you are. She would just sit. I think she would imagine that you were there with her."
"I should of stayed." I mumbled. I felt my bed dip next to me and I looked over at Adam who was now sitting next to me.
"Its okay, Cammy. It doesn't even matter anymore. We're all just glad you called us." He smiled and nudged me with his shoulder.
"Did you ever leave? Y'know, when she was better?" I asked.
"I did. I moved to the city and got a job in an art museum." He looked around my room, then back at me. "What did you do when you moved? Where did you even go?"
"New York City. I went to school for two years, then dropped out. I lived with my friend Mary until recently. I now live with my boyfriend. I'm going back to school though. To be a vet."
"Whoa, little Cammy has a boyfriend? What's his name?"
"Jay." That reminded me. I should call him and tell him I'm okay.
I pulled my phone out and dialed his number. I remembered it by heart just in case something happened.
"Hey, babe!" His voice rang through my ear.
"Hey. Sorry, I would of called you sooner but I got caught up with family." Adam was mouthing 'put it on speaker' so I did.
"Its alright, I understand. Its your family."
"Yeah. I'm with adam right now, I think he wants to say something to you."
"Jay." He was usuing his manly voice. I guess so he'd try to scare him. "I swear to god, if you hurt my little sister, I'll break your neck."
"Trust me, Adam. I wouldn't dream of hurting Cameron." I blushed and took him off speaker.
"I'll call you later, Jay."
"Alright, bye." I said bye and hung up. I laid down on my back and smiled.
"You should of made him come with you. We would of loved meeting him." Adam lied on his back with me.
"Yeah, but I just wanted to spend time with you guys."
"I'm sorry I said those things to you when you left. I regret it so much." Adam sighed.
"Its okay, Adam. I deserved it for leaving you guys."
"Let's unpack and godownstairs." I nodded and we starting unpacking my stuff.
