The Getaway

The two days went in a hurry as they were busy settling the work stuff before traveling to Ant's hometown. The day of the journey though, Dec woke up early in the morning feeling cold and was surprised to see Ant's side of the bed empty. He puts on Ant's hooded T-shirt and walks to the patio seeing it open and was not surprised to see his taller boyfriend leaning to the rails with his eyes fixed on the waking city life beneath him.

Dec was literally sleeping on his feat but something in Ant's expression stopped him from going back to bed.

Dec: "Ant?"

Ant turns to look at Dec and his heart tugs to see the desperate way Dec was holding the light fabric of the T-shirt closer, his sleepy eyes struggling to stay open.

Ant: "Oh baby, why did you come out? Put on a sweater or something. Come on.."

Ant pulls Dec inside and slowly rubs his arms and hands noting how cold they have gone.

Dec: "You must have bee freezing out there" he yawns heavily and Ant sighs

Ant: "But I had thick clothes on Declan. Why did you get up?"

Ant holds him close places his lips on Dec's bed hair, steering them to the bedroom

Dec: "Woke up cold and you weren't here"

Ant: "Yeah. I woke up early today"

Dec: "Did you sleep at all, Ant?"

Ant just bites his lips and they reach the bed, he lifts the covers so that Dec can scoot in.

Dec: "Did you!"

Ant: "I did....a bit. It's okay...don't worry about me sweetheart"

Dec: "Who else do I have to worry about?"

Ant looks at him lovingly and slowly pokes his stomach

Ant: "Your cute belly, fluffy hair, smooth skin..."

Dec: "Stop it" he blushes and then pulls Ant closer "Don't change the subject"

Ant caresses his cheek and Dec hums at that warmth, his eyelids drooping on their own.

Ant: "Sleep some more, baby. I am not going anywhere"

He lays down to pull Dec to his chest, smiling as Dec hummed at the warmth offered to him.

Dec: "Love you"

Ant slowly pecks his lips and says in a small voice "Love you more"

It was a couple of hours later that Dec woke up again feeling warm and loved. He opens his eyes and feels caring hands tightening around him. His green-blue eyes find the deep blue above him and the love reflected in those shining orbs made his heart flutter

Ant: "Good morning baby"

Dec smiles and cuddles to Ant's chest and then ask in a small voice

Dec: "You didn't go back to sleep?"

Ant buries his face into Dec's hair and inhales deep

Dec: "What are you afraid of, Ant?"

Ant: "It's nothing, baby"

Dec: "No...don't hide away...not in front of me"

Ant doesn't reply and Dec shifts so that he's at head level with Ant. Ant just stares at him for a moment and when Dec placed his hand behind Ant's neck and pulled him closer, Ant obediently leans to Dec's chest burying his face in the crook of Dec's neck

Dec slowly caresses his hair and asks lovingly

Dec: "Tell me...what are you afraid of?"

Ant: "Them...can't face 'em"
