"JISUNG!!" Jisung shuttered at his name. He turned to see where it had come from when all he saw was a peachy haired boy walking towards him. His smile was wide and he exuded this bright energy. Almost like the sun itself.

"Its me! Felix! You know, I'm friends with the other Australian you met on your first day." I let out a sigh of agreement. My mind drifting off in the background to recall the time.

"We have a music class together!" I let a smile reach my lips as it would be nice to have a friend for once.

We walked to the music room together. Music was my favourite subject. It was my passion. I loved writing and making music, I mean it was pretty much all I did in my spare time.

Felix opened the door, letting me slide past him into the classroom. I saw there were chairs slightly scattered around, a few earlybirds finding their seats around the classroom. Random instruments could be seen hidden in corners and poking out of boxes, waiting to be used. Felix and I followed, in that we took our seats. We found a place in the second row and just as we did the bell rang.

"So you know this school is like known for the music right?" Felix leant over, speaking just above a whisper.

"Yeah, kinda why I came here actually." Felix nodded with an approving grin as he sat back in his chair.

"Well yeah, it's just it's not like your usual music classes." The words alone didn't make me wary but the expression Felix gave and the knowing look in his eyes made me wonder, what made it so different exactly?

"What do you mean-" Suddenly music started playing, stopping me in my tracks. There weren't any lyrics but a catchy melody played in the room. The last few students were sitting down, seemingly unbothered by the music playing, as a young lady waltzed in with her phone in her hand and held up as to give better sound.

"Heeeeeeeello everyone! And welcome to music, if you weren't here last year that is. Of course I will be your music teacher, Mrs Guk." She was very warm and welcoming, she seemed really nice. Perhaps it was Mrs Guk that made the difference to the school's music program.

"Now, in this class we don't do a lot of theory. I prefer just to give out assignments just to help you improve in the actual music and not how to draw a bloody treble clef. So to start off the new year, I am assigning you to a track and I want you to make a song. I don't care how, I don't care where. But I need a song by the end of next week. 2 minutes minimum." I wasn't sure how to respond I mean, A song in a little more than a week isn't exactly difficult for me but that's only because I have no life and spend almost all my time on music. Who knows, maybe that was the point. Maybe she was trying to get people to put music first. Music is her passion, as it is mine, so I can see why she would want that.

"I'm going to let you start thinking and planning this lesson so feel free to ask me questions about the class or the song...Get started!" I wasn't sure how to start. There were no rules, no limitations to what I could do. Yet somehow that made the process ten times harder.

The entire lesson was wasted, only resulting in a few scrunched up papers and scribbles that made no sense. Maybe I just needed more inspiration. Surely I would get right to it once I got home.

I got home, throwing my bag to the side.
I sat at my desk, tapping the pen at my chin, hoping for an idea to spark. I stared at the paper in front of me. Blank. Blank. Blank. Nothing. No ideas, no concepts, barely even a thought that could relate to the task at hand. Wait a minute. Blank. BLANK. That's how my mind feels. Blank. So maybe that's what I should be writing about.

Suddenly ideas were flowing from all over the place. There were some awkward phrases and a few tweaks that needed to be made but for a first draft it wasn't too shabby.

I looked down at the page again. This time seeing about three minutes worth of lyrics. I smiled to myself. I can finally sleep.

The next morning I did the same as I always did. Pulled out a hoodie, skinny jeans and a beanie. One could say I was bland but I prefer the word consistent.

After that I grabbed my bag and headed out the door waving goodbye to my parents as I left. A quick 'I love you' leaving my lips, as I turned onto the street. The walk wasn't long and the breeze was perfect. I was in a pretty good mood this morning. After finishing the lyrics for the song last night I felt pretty accomplished, not to boast. Who knows maybe I'll have the whole song done by this weekend. It's not like I have much else to do.

The school bell rang not long after I arrived. I promptly made my way to my first class, though keeping my good mood would be a challenge as the day went on.

I have to say, out of every class, health was the most boring. As much as the initiative to teach teens to be healthy was understandable, the idea of an entire class based on it was not so much reasonable as it was unnecessary. I have gained a lot of useless knowledge in my life but I'll tell you this, the knowledge gained from this class is the most useless.

I sat scribbling in my book not paying attention to a word that was said. So I may have been at fault when I didn't hear the teacher was calling my name at an increasing volume.
