Chapter Thirty-Six

Peeta POV-

"I'm ready, Peeta. Now what are we doing?" Katniss hollers as I hear her stomp down the stairs.

I walk into the living room to find Katniss at the end of the stairs.

"Peeta?" Katniss says, annoyed.

I snap out of my gaze and focus on her face.

"I'm sorry." I say.

She folds her arms, "What are we doing?"

I can tell she still doesn't feel 100% comfortable with me again yet and I can see the events from the past day have effected us both majorly.

"It's still a secret for just a little bit longer." I say.

"Peeta, no more secrets. Does this secret have anything to do with your texts?" She asks.

I nod my head simply.

"It better be good then." She says and walks away.

I just wish she would trust me, I thought things were gonna be fine after our talk earlier but so far it doesn't seen so.

Katniss POV-

I don't understand Peeta right now.

I just don't know what to do or what to think.

I am so mad at him right now and I really have no reason to be.

He has assured me that nothing's going on and I should trust him and I do trust him.

Maybe it's because he is the only person in my life I can be mad at?

No one else is here except him to be mad at.

I walk into the kitchen just as I hear the doorbell ring and Peeta's phone go off.

Peeta, I guess answers the door and I rush to his phone.

I am going to find out who was texting him before he gets back in here.

I pick up his phone and put in the password, the day we met.

I see that it's a text from none other than Delly Cartwright.

"Hey, cutie. I will see you tonight. Don't tell Katniss!"

My heart sinks into the pit of my stomach and I feel like puking.

Peeta is cheating on me.

He's just been playing it off as nothing.

I fall right there to the ground.

Shocks and sadness run through my body.

Peeta, my fiancé is cheating on me with some girl from college, the girl that made me have to leave college.

All the promises he made me, he broke.

All of the repeated words of 'forever and always' meant nothing to him.

"Katniss!" I hear someone holler my name.

I stand up and walk into the living room.

My head is dizzy and I see spots.

I feel like I am about to pass out, I am so angry right now.

I walk into the living room to see all my friends:

Gale and Madge.

Finnick and Annie.

Thresh and Johanna.

Clove and Cato.

And Glimmer and Marvel.

"Kat!" Someone screeches.
