Katniss POV-
I make it downstairs to Peeta's dorm room and I knock on the door.
I wait a few minutes and nothing.
Finally, I decide to call him.
Maybe he has already gone to my dorm and I missed him?
I let it ring and I hear his phone ringing from inside.
There is no answer so I knock again, "Peeta?" I call, getting slightly annoyed and a little worried.
I check to see if the door is unlocked and it is.
I open the door and peek inside and that is where I find him passed out on his bed.
I smirk, looking up at the clock.
It reads 6:50pm.
I close the door behind me and walk over to his bed.
"Peeta?" I whisper into his ear and kneel down to him.
His eyes are shut tight and his breaths are heavy.
He looks so exhausted.
It's been a long weekend and we've been busy.
His blonde hair is all ruffled up and his lips are parted ever so slightly.
I contemplate waking him or letting him sleep because we haven't received much sleep lately and I don't want him sick from fatigue again.
We were suppose to go out with Peeta tonight but Bristol and I can find something else to go do, she knows the city better than us anyways.
I lean down and press my lips to his forehead and push some hair out of his sleeping eyes and leave him a note on his desk.
(Note to Peeta)
"Peeta, I came over but you were asleep. You looked really sweet and I didn't want to wake you. I know we have been really busy lately and not receiving a sufficient amount of rest. I don't want you to get sick again from exhaustion. Bristol and I will go find something else to do, I promise it's not a big deal so don't feel bad. I love you so much. Call me when you wake up and I'll text you when we get back. I love you, forever and always.
-Katniss."I finish the note, placing it on his desk and leaving with a satisfied look on my face and I head back to my dorm.
I walk in and find Bristol in jeans and a simple shirt with her long brown hair is pulled back.
She is one of those gorgeous girls, that you would automatically assume to be mean but her personality is so the opposite of what you'd expect.
So far she has been unbelievably kind to me, but I have only known her for a half a day, if even that.
"You look cute." I say to her as I walk over and sit on my bed and she gives me a confused look.
"Where is Peeta?"
"Well, I went over there and he was asleep. I would've woken him but sometimes when he overworks himself, he gets sick."
"Oh no." She says worriedly.
"Yeah. He faints and doesn't feel good and we haven't had much rest lately so I just want him to catch up on his sleep." I explain to Bristol.
"That is really sweet of you, Katniss. I am sure he wants to go but this is for his well being. Instead of being selfish and waking him, I love how you decided to let him sleep." Bristol says, her hand over her heart.
"Thank you. I am sure he will feel horrible for sleeping through but we can go have some girl time. I'm sure by the time we are done here you will be-"
Bristol cuts me off, "Really great friends." She says confidently.
"I was going to say sick of us both but I hope you're right." I laugh.
She laughs too, "I have a very good feeling about this setup."
I smile, "You know the city better than I do. Let's go have some fun." I say, holding up my car keys.
Bristol gives me a devious grin and I return it.
We both let out a chuckle and walk out of the dorm room.
We finally find my car that is parked next to Peeta's and get in.
"So, any good restaurants or malls or is there anything you wanna go do?" I ask her.
Bristol gives me a shrug, "I don't get out much here. I have only been to a few places with my grandparents but how about we just explore?" She suggests.
I nod and we make it into the city in a matter of minutes. "There's the mall." Bristol says, looking out the window on her side.
I glance over, "Wanna go? We could shop around and then eat a bunch of junk food and hang out." I ask.
She smiles at me, "That sounds really fun."
"Let's go." I say and turn into the mall entrance.
"So, where do you wanna go first?" I ask wandering into the mall with Bristol at my side.
She shrugs and gives me an 'I don't know' look.
"What if we went into the candy store?" I ask, pointing to the colorful store entrance across the mall.
"I am always looking for some good candy. Let's go." Bristol says.
"Get whatever you want. I am buying." I say as I begin picking up a few bags of Peeta and I's favorite candies.
"Oh, no. I will pay for my stuff, it would be rude of me to let y'all pay." Bristol says.
I shake my head, "Don't be silly. I promise it's not a big deal."
She shakes her head 'no' again and begins choosing some of her favorite sweets.
When we her done, I finally talk her into letting me pay for her things as well as my own.
We walk around the mall and I find some cute things for myself and a few things I know Peeta needs or wants.
Then we go into the Food Court and treat ourselves to tons of junk food.
Together we buy cookies, pretzels, soda, pizza and a few more unhealthy foods and we scarf it all down with time to spare.
At about 10pm, we are still going strong as we walk through the mall and I get a text from Peeta.
(Texts from Peeta)
"Katniss, I am so sorry!"
"No, don't feel bad. Bristol and I just went out to the mall in Five. We should be back soon though."
A few minutes later my phone vibrates and I stop for a second to read his reply.
"Okay, I hope you're having some fun. Tell Bristol that I'm sorry and we will try again tomorrow. Please, text me or call when you're home so I know you made it back okay." He replies.
"I will. I love you." I tell him and wait for his reply that comes just seconds later.
"I love you too." Peeta says and I smile as I follow Bristol into the book store.
Maybe we can both find something we like here.
We buy a few more things and decide to head back to the campus.
It is midnight when we get back.
Lucky for us, there isn't a curfew which is also nice for Peeta and I.
