Katniss POV- (The next morning)
I wake up and instantly feel sick.
Peeta comes rushing to my side once he realizes what's happening.
I run into the bathroom and puke into the toilet.
Peeta holds back my hair, I feel so nauseous even after I puke up last night's dinner.
"Are you okay?" Peeta asks.
I hold his hand tightly to steady myself as I see nothing but black in my eyes for a few seconds.
Peeta comes back into focus, "Katniss, are you okay?" He asks again.
His face wears a look of concern and pity.
I nod my head.
"Let's go lay back down." Peeta guides my shaky body back to the bed.
I lay down and Peeta lays next to me, still gripping my hand tightly.
"Are you dizzy?" He asks me.
I try lifting my head up a little and my head begins pounding.
I feel as if I could pass out so I lay back down carefully.
"Yeah, I don't know what's happening." I say worriedly.
Peeta gives me a look that is filled with worry towards me.
"I'll call the doctor's office to see if I can bring you in soon. You just stay here and don't get up." Peeta says, getting out of our bed.
Maybe I should've listened when Peeta said not to get up, because I tried sitting upright a few minutes later and let's just say, it was one of the worst physical pains of my life.
My head felt as if it was a time bomb and I could explode any second I was sitting up but perfect fine laying down flat.
Well, as long as I didn't rustle my head around much.
"Katniss!" Peeta hollers from downstairs.
"What?" I call back.
"The doctor is gonna get you in at ten this morning." He says back.
I nod my head and then remember he isn't even in the room so he can't see me so I just decide to keep quiet.
A few minutes later, Peeta brings me up a plate of breakfast.
"Peeta, thank you but I'm not hungry." I say pushing the food back into his hands.
He gives me a frown, "You must really be sick if you don't want cheese buns." Peeta jokes.
I roll my eyes at him.
"I'll feed you?" He suggests, hoping I'll give in.
"Peeta, that's sweet but I just don't think could hold it down." I say, disgusted with the thought of eating anything.
Peeta frowns, "I'm sorry, sweetheart." He pats my hand softly.
I ease myself back into a laying position and he crawls back into bed and lays his head next to mine.
"I wonder what's going on?" Peeta says, looking into my eyes.
"I don't know but it isn't fun. It's probably a virus." I guess.
"Is that the first time you've been sick in the morning?" Peeta asks me curiously.
I nod my head, nonchalantly.
"I know this isn't a possibility but wouldn't it be great if you were pregnant?" Peeta asks me shyly.
"That would be wonderful but that's not it. We haven't even had sex, Peeta." I laugh.
Boys.
Clueless boys.
His bright eyes dullen when I say this.
"I know. I don't really want a baby yet anyways, not for a while. Not until you're ready." He rambles on.
"I'm sorry, I should stop. I think it's because of Bristol's baby, the news of it. I guess I have baby fever or something." Peeta scolds himself for going on.
I chuckle weakly, taking his hand.
I know how bad Peeta wants a baby in the future but we are waiting until we were married and settled down pretty well before I'll even consider it.
"I promise that day will come eventually. We can wait a little longer." I assure him, unsure of it myself.
I don't know how I feel about it, really.
Yes, I have thought about it a lot and I know how much it means to Peeta but I don't want to have to think about it until it happens.
Peeta grins, "I know, but I can't wait for that day." He reveals softly.
I look up, "What?" I grin.
He's gonna be an amazing dad, I just know it.
He is so patient and gentle.
Every baby and kid I've ever seen him near, absolutely love him.
Peeta is just such a lovable person.
His handsome features and smile melt your heart and when he speaks you feel mesmerized by his words.
He could move an entire population with just his voice.
Some of the millions upon millions of reasons Peeta Mellark is the perfect man.
"We haven't talked about it much but I'd love for us to have kids on day, Katniss."
"I know, Peeta." I say awkwardly.
"I've always wanted that for myself and even more since I found you."
"Me too." I admit.
I use to never want kids but now that I know I have a future with Peeta, I know it's something I'll want one day.
"However, if I could only have you for the rest of my life, I would be so happy." Peeta says in a slow steady voice.
My heart begins to beat fast at his kind words and my face heats up more than it was already.
I can feel the heat radiating of our bodies and my face.
Peeta moves his hand to my forehead and then my cheek.
"Katniss, you're burning up." He says sadly.
I smile softly, "I'm okay as long as I don't sit up. Just my face feels really hot." I tell him.
"Don't get up or talk or anything, just rest." Peeta says, caressing my cheek.
I take my hand and place it over his big hand that rest on my face.
I feel the heat from his hand soak up my fever.
I smile tiredly at him.
Peeta brings my hand to his lips and kisses it softly.
Every spot his lips meet my skin, leave tiny warm sensations.
It's always been that way, even after a little more than two years and a thousand and ten kisses, it still happens.
I fall into a safe, warm, sleep.
Despite that fact that I feel terrible, I know as long Peeta is with me, I'll be fine.
I could be on my death bed and feel fine as long as he by my side.
Peeta is like a numbing factor for me.
He always has been so calming and gentle that all my troubles just wash away when he is near.
Everything bad turns good again just by his presence.
