Hey everyone! I hope you're having a good day. The reader in this one-shot is gender-neutral like usual. I hope you enjoy it.

The blinding light the summer sun exerted shone through the tinted windows, covering the domed ceiling with beautiful fragile glass, which let you see the shimmering blue sky above.

Walkways intervened with each other until, at a certain point, people trod their little feet wherever they pleased, not caring about tributaries that were once carved out for them.

Overtures of purchase and profit stained the high ceiling walls while the room increased in population with every passing second; the heat of the sun not being merciful at all in this kind of situation.

Pulling your wrist up to your face, you checked the time on your watch, hoping it was still working. You've been at this mall for hours trying to find a decent birthday present for your friend but for some reason, you couldn't find anything that would satisfy you.

You didn't want to get them any typical gifts.

No pen that had their name engraved on it with fake gold that would inevitably get lost and never be used.

No box of expensive chocolates that they might eat all in one go and forget they ever had. (A/N: Guilty.)

No stuffed animals. Well, you were considering it but surprisingly the stuffed toys were even more exorbitant than the so-called 'expensive' chocolates.

You were losing hope so you decided you were going to try again tomorrow or just find something online like most people these days do.

Sluggishly, you proceeded to walk towards the exit, rumbling through your bag, checking you had all your essentials but you soon noticed the line for the new bubble tea stall had decreased in size, mainly because the mall was about to close.

"I guess getting bubble tea won't be a bad idea." You automatically found yourself waiting in line for some delicious ice tea.

The stall was quite small but it didn't stop from becoming popular. It was colourful, quirky and the staff seemed very friendly, even offering discounts on the products they work so hard on making and shaking.

The workers were all busy, one by one making the different teas that displayed a harlequin set of colours, once ready.

Watching the customers pierce the straw harshly through the sealed plastic top had to be the most satisfying thing you've seen.

Looking around, still last in line, you noticed a tall male, probably your age gazing at you. All you could focus on was his sliver and black spiky hair. It was honestly amazing.

You also realised that he was being encouraged and fired up by what you presumed to be his friend who also had a serious case of bedhead.

[I]Are weird hairstyles just a trend now?

Before you could question it, even more, the spiky-haired boy was soon approaching you.

"Ummm? Excuse me?"

"Yeah... can I help you with something?"

"Well no but I think you drop these." Looking down you saw him holding out a set of keys that you instantly knew it was yours, judging by the many keyrings that were covering it.

It must have fallen out of my bag when I was checking I had everything. How ironic.

"Oh god. It would have been a nightmare if I lost these. Thanks." You flashed him a quick yet grateful smile before maintaining your spot in line.
