Something I Never Thought I'd do (Kageyama Tobio x reader)

This oneshot was posted on my amino account for quite a while now and I thought I might as well post it here as well. The reader is gender neutral. Also, I made Kageyama's dislike for animals into a fear/phobia just for the sake of the story. 

Kageyama never liked animals and to him it seemed that animals didn't like him back. There were multiple reasons why this was the case but never once was he convinced that he would ever come face to face with his fear.

It was the end of the day and you decided to visit your boyfriend at his practice match he had against another local team. You hadn't seen him all day so you thought it would be nice to cheer him on and be supportive.

With laces trailing on the ground, frayed and long, you walked towards the gym that was brightly lit from the inside. Sliding the rusty door open with a squeaky noise, you prepared to see a gym full of people but you stood confused at the entrance when your eyes laid upon the black-haired who was busy practicing his serves. All by himself.

"Tobio?"

Kageyama glanced at you, bouncing the volleyball on the wooden marked ground. "Hey."

"What's going on ? I thought you said you had a match against Wakutani?"

"They cancelled on us last minute. So everyone just scattered off." Kageyama explained ,walking to the back of the court.

Intently, you watched him throw the ball into the air but before you could register what he was going to do, he smacked as hard as possible onto the other side of the court so that a resonating clap vibrated off the walls of the gym.

You felt the hairs on your arms arise.

"So you're just going to practice serves all evening ?" You spoke again ,trying to continue the conversation before getting entranced by another one of his serves.

"Seems so. Is that okay?" He asked considerately though he seemed quite embarrassed even after saying it.

"Yeah totally. I'll just wait for you." You smiled at him and headed towards the dark mahogany benched glued to the side of the gym. As you were going to take a seat, you noticed something on Kageyama's neck.

Curious, you approached him to get a closer look. You touched his neck without asking which startled the raven-haired as if he knew what you were going to ask next.

"Tobio?"

"Yeah?"

"Why do you have scratches all over your neck?"

You worryingly graced your fingers across the scars, making him flinch. His skin was scarlet red as well. Maybe it's a allergic reaction or something?

"It was itchy ... so I was scratching."

"But these look like scratches from tiny little claws?"

Kageyama grew silent. You stared at him, expecting an answer.

" I was attac..." His words grew into a mumble.

" What?"

"I was attacked by a squirrel." He said quietly under his breath.

"..."

You strife a giggle which cause the male gave you a death stare in embarrassment with widened eyes and short breaths.

"STOP LAUGHING IDIOT. IT'S NOT FUNNY!"

"I know I'm sorry but I swear only something like that would happen to you." You said in between laughs. You wiped a tear out of your eye duct and realised that Kageyama was starting to get annoyed.
